Myofascial Pain Syndrome in Patients With Breast Cancer-related Lymphedema

Myofascial Pain SyndromeBreast Cancer4 more

The goal of this observational study is to determine the relationship between Lymphedema and Myofascial Pain Syndrome in Breast Cancer Patients. The main questions it aims to answer: Is there a relationship between the stage of lymphedema and the frequency of accompanying myofascial pain syndrome in the breast cancer patients? Does the existence of lymphedema in breast cancer patients affect the distribution and the pain threshold values of trigger points seen in Myofascial Pain Syndrome? What is the impact of Myofascial pain syndrome seen in breast cancer associted lymhedema patients on upper extremity function and quality of life?

Effectiveness of Multicomponent Treatment for Fibromyalgia (FIBROWALK)

Fibromyalgia

The main objective of this study is to analyse the effectiveness of the FIBROWALK multicomponent treatment program as coadjuvant of treatment-as-usual (TAU) compared to TAU alone.

Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Dry Needling Versus Foam Roller

Myofascial Pain SyndromesDry Needling

To compare the effects of dry needling and Foam roller in myofascial trigger points. Needling has been shown to decrease pain in the short term; however, its effects on muscle force production are unclear. There are differences between dry needling and foam roller after treatment?

Vestibular Caloric Stimulation and the Modulation of Pain in Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia

The management of chronic pains is challenging and fraught with limitations. Fibromyalgia is a common pain disorder characterized by chronic widespread pains, associated with fatigue and impaired quality of life. Fibromyalgia affects millions of people and is among the most common reasons for consulting with a rheumatologist. The food and drug administration (FDA) approved three medications to treat fibromyalgia, though there are many patients for whom these medications are ineffective, poorly tolerated or cost-prohibitive. Accordingly, there exists a need for novel therapeutics. The researchers would like to test the therapeutic efficacy of a non-pharmacologic non-interventional bedside technique called vestibular caloric stimulation (VCS). VCS, irrigating the external ear canal with water, is a simple, non-invasive, cost-free procedure with preliminary data suggesting potential for improving pain. VCS is a form of neuromodulation and there are anatomically defined pathways elucidated to help explain how this works. There currently exists limited data on the topic, only case reports and case series. Given a clear need for additional therapeutics in many patients with fibromyalgia, the researchers have elected to conduct this trial.

Dry Needling and High Intensity Laser Therapy in Treatment of Myofascial Pain Syndrome

Myofascial Pain Syndrome

108 myofascial pain syndrome (MPS) diagnosed patients will be randomly divided into 3 groups. To groups; exercise, exercise+high-intensity laser therapy (HILT) and exercise+dry needling will be applied. Visual anolog scale (VAS) scores and neck range of motion (ROM) of the patients before-after treatment will be recorded and will be evaluated statistically.

Effects of Therapeutic Exercise in Patients With Fibromyalgia

Therapeutic ExerciseChronic Pain

Fibromyalgia syndrome is characterized by chronic generalized musculoskeletal pain associated with fatigue, sleep disturbances and some biochemical markers. The European League Againts Rheumatism (EULAR) described an algorithm how to treat step by step these patients. The objective of this trial is to evaluate if therapeutic exercise is effective on fatigue, pain threshold, quality of life, quality of sleep, pain coping and biochemical and genetic markers. For this purpose, the investigators conduct a randomized controlled trial double-blind (patient and examiner). The investigators included patients diagnosed of fibromyalgia according to the American College of Rheumatology (ACR). Patients included one group receiving exercise therapy consisting of 3 treatment sessions a week over 10 weeks. The variables are measured at the beginning and end of treatment.

Deep Tissue Massage in the Myofascial Pain Syndrome

Massage TherapyMyofascial Pain Syndrome

This study aims to examine the effect of deep tissue massage (DTM) on myofascial trigger point (MTrP) number, neck range of motion (ROM), pain, disability and quality of life in patients with Myofacial pain syndrome (MPS).

Telerehabilitation Based on Aerobic Exercise in Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia syndrome is the most common cause of chronic generalized musculoskeletal pain and is characterized by pain associated with generalizad sensitivity, fatigue, sleep disturbances and psychological problems. Due to the chronic nature of the pathology and the great dependence on analgesic drugs that it often entails, in these patients it is considered necessary to provide an individualized approach and provide strategies that allow symptoms to be controlled conservatively and non-pharmacologically. The objective of this trial is to analyse the immediate effects on pain, mechanical pain sensitivity, impact of fibromyalgia, pain catastrophizing, psychological distress and physical function when a telerehabilitation program based on aerobic exercise is applied in women with fibromyalgia. For this purpose the investigators conduct a randomized controlled trial single-blind (examiner). The investigators included female patients diagnosed of fibromyalgia according to the American College of Rheumatology (ACR). Thirty-four women with fibromyalgia are included and randomized into 2 groups: telerehabilitation program group based on aerobic exercise and control group. Exercise group receive 2 treatment sessions a week over 15 weeks. All the variables are measured at the beginning of intervention and after the intervention.

Efficacy of Different Types of Exercises in Women With Fibromyalgia Syndrome.

Fibromyalgia Syndrome

Objective: To demonstrate the most effective exercise intervention for women with fibromyalgia syndrome on the pain, quality of life, depression, and body composition through a comparative study of three types of exercise intervention: supervised aerobic plus stretching, supervised resistance plus stretching, and home-based stretching.

Molecular Response to Custom Manual Physiotherapy Treatment of Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue Syndrome...

Fibromyalgia (FM)Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)

Fibromyalgia (FM)and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) are complex diseases often presenting overlapping symptomatology. Manual therapy (MT) protocols report benefits for pain treatment of FM, but the underlying mechanisms for patient improvement remain unknown. The main goal of this study is to assess the molecular changes associating to mechanical and additional MT triggers, possibly involved in patient symptom improvement.
