RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Pancreatic enzymes may help kill cancer cells. It is not yet known if gemcitabine is more effective than pancreatic enzyme therapy plus specialized diet for pancreatic cancer. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is comparing the effectiveness of gemcitabine with that of pancreatic enzyme therapy plus specialized diet (Gonzalez regimen) in treating patients who have stage II, stage III, or stage IV pancreatic cancer.

RATIONALE: Monoclonal antibodies, such as RAV12, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving RAV12 together with gemcitabine may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying the side effects and best dose of monoclonal antibody RAV12 when given together with gemcitabine in treating patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer.

This randomized phase II trial will compare the efficacy and toxicity of Gemcitabine plus Erlotinib versus Gemcitabine plus Erlotinib plus Oxaliplatin in patients with pancreatic cancer.

This phase II trial is studying how well giving bortezomib together with carboplatin works in treating patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer. Bortezomib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving bortezomib together with carboplatin may kill more tumor cells.

This study is being conducted to evaluate the clinical efficacy, biologic activity (inhibition of PX-12 target thioredoxin-1) and effects of an expired metabolite of PX-12 in patients with advanced pancreatic cancer.

The purpose of this study is to assess the effects of the treatment combination of the commercially available chemotherapy drugs, docetaxel and liposomal doxorubicin, and a blood thinner Enoxaparin on pancreatic cancer. The main goal of the study is to find out if this combination chemotherapy and enoxaparin increases the number of individuals whose tumors shrink.

The purpose of this research study is to try to define the highest doses of temsirolimus and gemcitabine that can be used safely in combination to treat advanced pancreatic cancer. Gemcitabine is a standard chemotherapy used for the treatment of pancreatic cancer.

The objectives of this study are: To determine the safety and MTD of CPI-613, when used in combination with Gemcitabine, in cancer patients. To compare the safety and efficacy of CPI-613/Gemcitabine combination vs. Gemcitabine alone in patients with carcinoma of the pancreas.

The purpose of this study is determine the safety of bevacizumab, oxaliplatin, 5-FU, and gemcitabine in combination with external beam radiation therapy(Phase I portion) as well as to begin to collect information about whether this combination treatment is effective in treating patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer (Phase II portion).

RATIONALE: Treating tumor tissue in the laboratory with different drugs may help doctors find the best drug for treating individual patients with pancreatic cancer. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying an individualized drug treatment selection process, based on laboratory results, for treating patients with pancreatic cancer that can be removed by surgery.
