This retrospective double-cohort study seeks to: Describe the cardiovascular manifestations and electrophysiological (EP) substrate in COVID-19 infection and their association with clinical outcomes; and Develop a method of cardiovascular risk stratification in COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted routine hospital services globally. The hospital services include surgeries for benign diseases, cancer surgery and obstetric surgery. A study conducted by CovidSurg Collaborative estimated that 28,404,603 operations would be cancelled or postponed during the peak 12 weeks of disruption due to COVID-19. Globally, 81.7% of benign surgery, 37.7% of cancer surgery and 25.4% of elective Caesarean sections would be cancelled or postponed. If countries increase their normal surgical volume by 20% post-pandemic, it would take a median 45 weeks to clear the backlog of operations resulting from COVID-19 disruption. This study aims to estimate total number of elective operations postponed during COVID-19 in geriatric population.

In this study, the investigators are attempting to evaluate the influence of socio-economic factors on the functional recovery (physical and psychological) of patients who developed ARDS after a COVID-19 infection, with the aim of offering personalized medical and social follow-up and support measures in order to avoid medium- and long-term complications, which can result in handicaps, reduced quality of life, and a higher risk of death.

The research is a prospective, multicentric (Groupe hospitalier Paris Saint-Joseph, Centre Hospitalier de Versailles André Mignot and Centre Hospitalier Victor Dupouy), non-interventional, prospective study. It aims at measuring eicosanoids at different stages of Covid-19 infection.

Objective: Veno-venous ECMO has been used as a rescue therapy for patients with severe ARDS associated to influenza A H1N1 and COVID19 viral pneumonia. This was a retrospective case-control study designed and conducted under the approval of the ethic committee of Tehran University of Medical Sciences. All patients with gastric cancer referring to Cancer Institute, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran, during February 25th and December 25th 2020, were enrolled to the study.

Background The impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on medical services is overwhelming due to limited medical resources. During its initial surge in 2020, Taiwan's government rapidly established diverse public actions, which helped maintain the medical supply without travel restrictions. However, whether the fear of being infected with COVID-19 interfered with health-seeking behavior (HSB) remains unclear. Therefore, this study aimed to elucidate whether acute complicated appendicitis (ACA) rates in adults were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods A retrospective analysis of acute appendicitis in adults was performed between January 1 and June 30, 2020 (COVID-19 period). The control period was collected from the first two quarters for the preceding 3 years. Outcome measures were ACA and length of hospital stays.
