T-cell Brazil: Prospective Collection of Data in T-cell Lymphomas Patients

T-cell LymphomaNK-Cell Lymphoma1 more

The designed study follows up on the previous one by the international T-cell project (Bellei et al,, 2012) and its purpose is to verify whether a prospective collection of data would permit access to more accurate information permitting a better definition of prognosis and investigation of more adequate treatment strategies for these neoplasms. The analysis of patients distributed in all five macro regions of the country and a comparison among them will provide a real picture of the disease in Brazil, limiting the bias probably found in the previous projects.

Characterization of White Blood Cells Sub-populations From Multiple Sclerosis Patients.

Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic progressive neurological autoimmune disease, that gradually affects patient's quality of life. There are about 2.5 millions patients world wide, with an increasing cost Burdon. Up to date, it remains unclear who are the exact cells to initiate the disease. Nutritional Status in Children With ALL in Guatemala

Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

This study proposes to investigate the association of nutritional status of a children assessed by body mass index (BMI), triceps skinfold thickness (TSFT), and mid upper arm circumference (MUAC), with body composition, measured by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA), in 60 children undergoing treatment of ALL at Unidad Nacional de Oncologia Pediatrica (UNOP), in Guatemala City, Guatemala. The study also aims to establish normative values of body composition in children residing in an LMIC by examining 160 healthy siblings of children under treatment, and to measure habitual physical activity in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) at diagnosis and during therapy.

Determinants of Health Status and Quality of Life in Patients With Primary Immunodeficiencies Inhereted...

Primary Immune Deficiency

Background: Most children with primary immune deficiency (PID) now reach adulthood. However, few studies have evaluated their health status and health related quality of life (HRQoL). Objective: To investigate long-term morbidity, the French Reference Center for PIDs initiated a prospective multicenter cohort: the F-CILC (French Childhood Immune deficiency Long-term Cohort). The data collected will be used to assess the physical health condition of patients who reached adulthood and the impact on their quality of life. Methods: Patients are asked to complete health status questionnaires. A severity score (grade1 ["mild"] to grade 4 ["life-threatening"]) is assigned to each health condition. The HRQoL of patients is compared to age- and sex-matched French normal values using the SF36 HRQoL questionnaire. Capsule summary. This will be the first study of adult survivors of childhood PID describing how the burden of health conditions affect their quality of life.

Graft-versus-host Disease Associated Myelosuppression

Abnormal HematopoiesisAllogenic Disease1 more

The objective is to measure the frequency, functionality and phenotype of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stromal cells in patients after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Furthermore, the immune cell infiltrate of the bone marrow will be monitored at the same time. These results will be correlated with the extent of cytopenia and clinical graft-versus-host disease grading.
