Comparative Study of microRNA Changes in Patients With Reactive Lymphoid Hyperplasia and Malignant...

LymphomaHyperplasia Lymphoid Reactive

The objectives are to: validate a panel of tissue-specific miRNAs that are differentially expressed in the tissue of patients with and without reactive hyperplasia and lymphoma. investigate the physiological range of the miRNA panel in lymphoma and reactive hyperplasia subjects. investigate the dysregulation of miRNA panel and their prognostic and predictive values in clinical outcomes to identifying patients with malignant lymphoma or reactive hyperplasia. This trial involves tissue samples diagnosed as lymphoma and reactive hyperplasia. The investigators will develop panels of miRNAs that are specific biomarkers of lymphoma, and assist clinical outcomes with these miRNAs.

Plantar Pressure Distribution in Patient With Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple Sclerosis

Fifty patients who were referred to receive physiotherapy and 20 healthy volunteers will be participants of the study.Participants with multiple sclerosis will evaluate with the following assessment tools: Modified Ashworth scale will use to evaluation of severity of plantar flexor spasticity. Plantar pressure distribution parameters will assess with dynamic pedobarography.

Evaluation of Potential Accumulation of Gadolinium (Dotarem and Multihance) in the French Observatory...

Multiple Sclerosis

Several recent studies have shown an increase in the signal intensity of the unenhanced T1-weighted magnetic resonance images in the brain of patients with normal renal functions and a breakdown of the blood-brain barrier. This hyper-intensity was specifically related to an accumulation of gadolinium based contrast agent. These studies were mainly conducted in patients with primary or secondary brain tumor. Multiple sclerosis is a particular model since it involves patients with a break of the blood-brain barrier, a long life expectancy, and who received many injections of contrast enhancing agents. In this context, it appears fundamental to know whether contrast agents accumulate in the brain for this disease. The French Observatory of Multiple Sclerosis is particularly suited to test this hypothesis, with homogeneous MRI data over several centers in France, and optimized sequences of 3D-T1 without injection. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the accumulation of two commonly used gadolinium based contrast materials (Dotarem and Multihance) in patients with multiple sclerosis, who received at least 5 injection of exclusively one of these contrast material.

Learning Health System for Asthma

Asthma

This study forms an initial phase of work aimed at developing a learning health system (LHS), whereby data relating to asthma is extracted from patient electronic health records (EHRs) across Scotland, analysed to explore variations in clinical practice and then shared with general practices to highlight any improvements that can be made so that they can better support people with asthma. If successful, the investigators hope to progress to the main quality improvement phase involving an increased number of practices and then incrementally build this up to cover the whole of Scotland.

Expression of Tumor Markers in Circulating Tumor Cells of Metastatic Hormone-sensitive Prostate...

Prostate Cancer

As prostate cancer progresses, tumor cells dissociate and enter the bloodstream. Considered a "liquid biopsy," these circulating tumor cells (CTC) can show how a patient's cancer evolves and responds to treatments. The purpose of this study is to determine whether sequentially analyzing the expression of tumor markers in circulating tumor cells in newly diagnosed metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer patients can predict the outcome of these patients.

Optical Coherence Tomography of Ocular Structures in Epiphora and Dry Eye Syndrome.

Dry Eye SyndromeEpiphora1 more

The primary aim of the study is to investigate whether optical coherence tomography (OCT) may be a useful tool for investigating the in-vivo histology of ocular structures in patients with tear film pathology. In epiphora the investigators will image the proximal lacrimal system. In dry eye syndrome the investigators will image the lacrimal gland and also the buccal mucosa. The secondary aim of the study is to investigate the appearance of the normal cornea and conjunctiva under OCT imaging.

Polymorphisms of Interleukins, Glypican, and Human Leukocyte Antigen Genes and Treatment Response...

Multiple SclerosisRelapsing-Remitting

HLA-DRB1 * Gene and some genes involved in inflammation and immunity (IL-7R, GPC5, CTSS) have been linked to risk of MS and the response to treatment with immunomodulators. This research aims to estimate the risk that confers some variations in the sequence of these genes.

Motivation of Patients Diagnosed With Multiple Sclerosis to Become Citizen Researchers

Multiple Sclerosis

The study will based on qualitative methods investigate motivational factors among patients diagnosed with multiple sclerosis for registering nutrition, environmental factors, stress provoking factors and physical activity (NESPA). The aim is to gain knowledge on motivational factors for using a digital tool for collecting data on NESPA and incorporate this knowledge into a form which can be used in requirement specifications for such a digital tool.
