Does AI-assisted Colonoscopy Improve Adenoma Detection in Screening Colonoscopy?

Screening Colonoscopy

To date, there is a lack of large-scale randomized controlled study using AI assistance in the detection of polyps/adenoma in a screening population. The correlation of fecal occult blood test (FIT or FOBT) and the advantage of AI-assisted colonoscopy has not been investigated. There is also a lack of information of the benefit of AI-assisted colonoscopy in experienced colonoscopist versus trainee/resident.

Patients' Guidance With Onco-Coaching and CANKADO on Systemic Chemotherapy for Metastatic Colorectal...

Metastatic Colorectal Cancer

This is a prospective, single arm, non-interventional project to evaluate the benefit/influence of individualized patient education and guidance with a web-based e-Health platform called CANKADO on patient reported outcomes (PRO) for patients with metastatic colorectal cancer. The focus will be on patient reported outcomes (PRO), distress, Quality of Life (QoL), Global Health Status, complaints and therapy relevant decisions. All patients will be medically treated according to the standards. The experimental arm will include 40 patients. Those patients will receive one initial coaching before start of therapy. Further appointments for coaching will be scheduled depending on individual patient's need. During treatment period the patient is encouraged of joining therapy actively documenting his state of health and occurring health complaints via CANKADO to give the physician a better overview on the process of patient's health behaviour and preparing him for the next doctor-patient consultation.

An Appraisal of Minimal Invasive Surgery for Thoracic Neurogenic Tumour

Neurogenic Thoracic Tumors

Mediastinal neurogenic tumors are relatively rare in children. Surgical resection is essential. Minimal invasive surgery is more and more used in pediatric population, but his evaluation for resection of thoracic neurogenic tumors is little studied. Thoracotomy has specific long terms post operative complications. When compared to thoracotomy, thoracoscopy shows less operative blood loss, shorter duration of chest tube ans length of stay. Recently, the indications of thoracoscopic approach have been assessed according to the presence or absence of image-defined risk factors (IDRF) at diagnosis and after preoperative chemotherapy in a monocentric retrospective study. The investigators aimed to conduct a multicentric retrospective study to assess the role of thoracoscopy in neurogenic thoracic tumours according to the presence or absence of IDRF at diagnosis, the surgical complications and outcome.

Patients' Preferences About Rescheduling Colonoscopies Delayed Due to COVID-19: Cross Sectional...

Colon Cancer

The study is a cross-sectional survey study targeting patients aged 45-75 who had their screening or surveillance colonoscopy postponed or delayed due to the COVID pandemic. Study staff will survey a random subsample of patients to assess anxiety, COVID risk tolerance, cancer worry, willingness to screen and barriers to screening colonoscopy, and preference for colonoscopy and alternative colon cancer screening options. Eligible patients will be sent a survey packet in the mail that will include a cover letter, an information sheet describing the study, an incentive, and the survey. The cover letter will include information for participants to opt-out if they desire. Patients will be asked to complete the survey and return it back to study staff. Consent is implied with return of the survey. For the study, staff plan to invite 300 patients and expect to receive 195 completed surveys. Analyses will examine whether COVID-19 has changed patients' interest in colon cancer screening and the strength of patients' preferences for colonoscopy and other approaches to colon cancer screening. It will then examine factors associated with positive and negative views on rescheduling colonoscopies such as anxiety, worry, and risk perceptions.

Gastric AdenocarcinomaPancreatic Adenocarcinoma1 more

To assess the importance patients place on each of the attributes of value (i.e., outcomes, quality of life [QOL], cost, experience), and how these patients’ views differ depending on the stage of their therapy (pretreatment, preoperative therapy, post-operative, long-term surveillance, recurrence).
