Predictive Factor Study of the Occurrence of Endometrial Cancer in Patients With Lynch Syndrome...

Lynch Syndrome

Lynch Syndrome increases Endometrial Cancer Occurrence in women due to failure in MisMatch Repair System. Lifetime Cumulative risk of developing endometrial Cancer is approximatively 40% in women with Lynch Syndrome. Endometrial cancer is the third women cancer in France. Many risk factors are known in general population. Lots of factors are related to over exposure to estrogen. Data about influence of general risk factors in Women with Lynch Syndrome are poor. Recently, a cohort study appears to have shown a significant decrease in the risk of endometrial cancer with multiparity, the use of hormonal contraception and late menopause in Lynch women. The impact of weight and certain metabolic parameters on the occurrence of endometrial cancers remains poorly known to this day.

Advanced Geriatric Evaluation and Quality of Life in Colorectal Cancer Surgery

Colorectal Cancer

Colorectal cancer (CRC) disproportionately affects patients aged 70 years and older. Surgery is the main treatment modality for CRC, but is associated with increased risk of postoperative morbidity, disability and loss of health related quality of life (HRQL).Frailty is an age related state of functional decline and considered to be an important risk factor for adverse outcome in geriatric oncology.Risk models for adverse outcome may be used for treatment decisions in the elderly, but are often not designed to predict patient related outcome measures and do not include frailty characteristics.

Primary AldosteronismPrimary Aldosteronism Due to Aldosterone Producing Adenoma1 more

Adrenal vein sampling (AVS) is currently considered the gold standard for subtype diagnosis of primary aldosteronism (PA). However, the percentage of unsuitable procedures due to the unsuccessful cannulation of one of the two adrenal veins is still considerable, and there is no general consensus on the criteria that should be used for the interpretation of the results of an AVS study in these specific cases.

Analyse of Tumour and Constitutional DNA for the Study of the Determinism in Child Neoplasia

Pediatric TumorFamilial Cancer3 more

Background. Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children. Most pediatric tumors differ from adult tumors in terms of biological and clinical characteristics. In children, the part of genetic determinism could be higher since the role of environmental factors may be less pronounced than in adults and that a young age at onset is a main feature of genetic cancer predisposition. Recent studies suggested that a number of genetic predisposition remains to be characterized. Methods. Trio-Based whole exome sequencing of germline DNA from patients (children and adults diagnosed with cancers between 0 and 17 years) and parents will be performed prospectively in a multicentric study including 40 unselected cases of malignant tumor. Participating hospitals will include the CHU of Montpellier, the CHU de Nice and the AP-HP. Tumor analysis will include whole exome analysis and transcriptome for the identification of therapeutic target and contribute to confirm potential link between constitutive mutations and tumor phenotype (such as loss of expression, loss of heterozygosity). Perspectives. This pediatric oncology study proposing a global approach integrating trio-based whole exome sequencing, somatic DNA and RNA analysis will improve the recognition of genetic predisposition and the characterization of target therapies in children with cancer.

Microvascular Plug (MVP) for the Treatment of Pulmonary ArterioVenous Malformations (PAVMs)

Pulmonary Arteriovenous Malformation

The purpose of this study is to compare the use of the Micro Vascular Plug (MVP) system and other embolic devices in treatment of PAVMs. Pulmonary Arteriovenous Malformations (PAVMs) are abnormal connections between the pulmonary vein and the pulmonary artery. This affects blood flow between the heart and lungs which puts patients at risk of stroke, brain abscess, hypoxia and even sudden death. The standard treatment of PAVMs is embolization. Embolization is the placing of an embolic (synthetic agent) into a blood vessel to block blood flow. The embolic is inserted via a catheter into the blood vessel. Detachable coils are the most commonly used embolic in the treatment of PAVMs. Despite long procedure times, numerous coils that are often required to occlude a single PAVM and recanalization rates ranging from 5% to 15%, the most widely used embolic device is still the detachable coil.

Atopic Diseases & Human Papilloma Virus

Human Papilloma VirusAtopic Asthma1 more

Cervical cancer is an important health problem in women. Human papillomavirus (HPV) is considered the primary etiological agent of cervical cancer worldwide. Cervical cancer screening methods are proved one of the few screening methods that are thought to decrease invasive cancer incidence and mortality. In our country, HPV screening is carried out free of charge by public health to women between the ages of 30-65 aim is to compare HPV screening results between women diagnosed with atopic disease and healthy women without a history of atopy. If HPV is detected more frequently in patients with atopy, it may be recommended to follow more closely in vaccination and screening programs. Therefore, our study was designed to evaluate whether HPV positivity is common in atopic women.
