Registry Study of T Cell Depleted Allo Non-Myeloablative Stem Cell Transplant
Hodgkin's DiseaseNon Hodgkin's Lymphoma3 moreAllogeneic transplantation is used to treat many malignant and non-malignant diseases. The investigators and others have shown that less toxic preparative regimens (reduced intensity or 'mini' transplants) allow reliable allogeneic engraftment and durable remissions, significantly broadening the population of patients who may be offered this therapy to those who are older and more infirmed. The field is now focusing on the period post transplant for approaches to immune recovery leading to improved outcomes. The primary objective of this registry is to catalogue data from patients who undergo standard of care reduced intensity allogeneic transplantation.

Historical Data Analysis of Complete Remission in Children With R/R Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia...
B-cell Precursor Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL)An historical data comparator study for children with relapsed/refactory acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).

Effect of Zinc on Barrett's Metaplasia
Barrett's MetaplasiaUsing orally administered zinc to patients already diagnosed with the pre-cancerous condition, Barrett's Esophagus, this study is asking two questions: can this zinc administration cause molecular-level changes in the Barrett's tissue? are the changes measured indicative of chemopreventive action by zinc regarding cancer progression?

A Comparative Study of Prophylactic Anticoagulation in Meningioma Surgery
MeningiomaThe aim of the study is to compare different strategies for prevention of venous thromboembolism related to intracranial meningioma surgery. The investigators identified three hospitals where two have a very restrictive approach with respect to anticoagulant therapy while at the third hospital the use of anticoagulation the day before surgery was initiated as routine prophylaxis. Based on this "natural experiment" it will be explored whether the use of anticoagulant prophylaxis is associated with reduced risk of venous thromboembolism and/or associated with increased risk of postoperative hemorrhage as compared to the 2 cohorts where this intervention were absent.

High Risk Adult T-cell Leukemia/Lymphoma (ATLL-HR) and Allogeneic Transplant
T-cell LymphomaLeukaemiaPatients are recruited at diagnosis or at relapse of ATLL-HR in French Caribbean islands and Guyana. They all receive Zidovudine and Pegylated Interferon (ZPI). For patients younger than 65 years old, an allogeneic donor is searching out. Patients included at relapse and with lymphoma clinico-biological subtype also receive chemotherapy (CT). Responses are assessed during ZPI+/-CT and eligible patients (depending on age, comorbidities and response criteria) receive allogeneic transplant. Patient follow-up is planned for 3 years old

Biologic Predictors of Leiomyoma Treatment Outcomes
Uterine LeiomyomasFibroids2 moreThe purpose of this study is to search for the hereditary (genetic) causes of uterine fibroids. Some women with uterine fibroids may have one or more genes that make them more likely to develop uterine fibroids. We are trying to identify these genes to better understand how and why uterine fibroids develop and to design better treatment options for women with uterine fibroids. This information may also help us to understand and treat other problems that may be caused by these genes.

Value of Physical Capacity Tests in Lung Cancer
Non Small Cell Lung CancerSmall Cell Lung CancerThe study examines the physical capacity of lung cancer patients assessed with the six minute walk test and handgrip strength. Demographic and selfreported exercise behavior is registered to explore correlations to functional and physical capacity. Assessments are made before first chemotherapy cycle and after fourth chemotherapy cycle, an expected average of 12 weeks between first and second assessment.

Study Of Circulating Multiple Myeloma Cells As A Biomarker of MGUS And SMM
a Diagnosis of MGUS or SMM by IMWG CriteriaThis is a prospective study to collect blood and bone marrow samples from patients with SM and MGUS. About 100 subjects will be enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania and followed for 2 years. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate CMMCs as a biomarker to detect patients at high risk of progression to multiple myeloma in patients with MGUS and SMM.

Immune Response in Lung Cancer
Lung CancerThis study is designed to evaluate the importance of the immune cells localization (distribution) between malignant tumor islets and surrounding stroma and to investigate the associations between these immune cells as well as cytokines and clinicopathological and prognostic factors of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients.

Lymph Node Staging System With a Novel Concept for Gastric Cancer: a Hybrid Type of Topographic...
Gastrectomy for Gastric CancerFor staging the status of lymph node metastasis in gastric cancer, typographic based staging system was applied until last decade, especially in Eastern countries. However the old typographic lymph node staging system in gastric cancer was too complicated and less accurate for predicting the prognosis. Now the numeric based lymph node staging system is used in both East and West, but it include problems: no information on the anatomical extent of the disease, preoperative lymph node staging is nearly impossible, failure to provide an appropriate treatment plan, cannot represent the extent of lymph node dissection. We designed simple and specifically representing the anatomic extent of the disease for staging the status of lymph node in gastric cancer. Thus we compared its prognostic performance of this new staging system with those of the current TNM 7th edition of AJCC/UICC.
