Precision Dosing of Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors in CML Patients

CMLChronic Phase5 more

The purpose of this prospective, single-institution observational study is to evaluate associations between the pharmacokinetic (PK) parameters for tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) used to treat chronic phase chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and clinical outcomes for up to 12 months. The study aims to identify associations between TKI clearance and/or exposure with demographic and clinical patient characteristics, CML milestones, medication toxicities, medication adherence, and germline genetic variants. Because this is an observational study, standard-of-care therapy will not be altered during the course of participation. Blood samples will be collected at each study visit (up to 6 visits) over the course of 12 months to evaluate TKI concentrations, and PK parameters. Blood will also be collected during the first visit to isolate DNA for next generation sequencing (NGS). Demographic information will be collected at baseline, while clinical and medication adherence information will be collected at baseline and then throughout the study. There will be no direct benefit to you for your participation. Risks are minor, but could include bruising, vein irritation, lightheadedness/dizziness, and/or infection from blood draws, as well as potential loss of confidentiality.

Cardiac Amyloidosis Screening at Trigger Finger Release

AmyloidosisTrigger Finger2 more

The investigators will prospectively evaluate for the presence of amyloid deposits in soft tissue samples obtained from patients undergoing trigger finger release surgery. Patients who have tissue that stains positive for amyloid will be referred to an amyloidosis specialist.

Osteosarcoma in Patients Older Than 40 Years. Prognostic Factors and Survival

Osteosarcoma

The purpose of this work is to carry out an exhaustive analysis of the characteristics of osteosarcoma in patients with an age equal to or greater than 40 years, in the Hospital de la Santa Creu and Sant Pau in Barcelona, during the years 1986-2016, with the objective to establish the factors that determine the disease and survival, as well as to evaluate the rates of limb salvage and amputation after neodyuvant chemotherapy. With the result of the results, the report of osteosarcoma and the age less than 40 years, with the aim of providing new information that is related to the appearance of osteosarcoma is available from 40 years.

FAZA PET IMAGING IN DETECTING LYMPH NODE METASTASES IN RENAL CELL CARCINOMA PATIENTS

Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC)

In renal cell carcinoma (RCC) patients, lymph node metastases detection and treatment are the most critical issues in daily clinical decision-making. Indeed, conversely to other oncological settings, a) nodal status imaging, b) sentinel node technique and c) standard lymphadenectomy have been demonstrated inadequate in the staging and management of RCC patients. A novel, accurate, standardized imaging technique is urgently needed in RCC setting to detect macro and micro nodal invasion, to identify those patients who are at higher risk of having nodal metastases, to accurately plan the best management. Recent studies suggested combining 18F-FAZA PET with CT scanning in the detection of cancer-induced hypoxia. The investigators propose to test 18F-FAZA PET-CT in detecting nodal metastases to improve the management of RCC patients.

BEPACT- Lung: Impact of Patient Characteristics on Pneumo-oncologists Non Small Cell Lung Cancer...

Stage IV Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

The treatment landscape of metastatic non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is rapidly evolving. There are new diagnostic and treatment options available in the coming months and years. New combination treatments will give different solutions to pneumo-oncologists who might be guided by certain patient and tumor characteristics. The link between patient and tumor characteristics in untreated stage IV non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients and systemic treatment needs further investigation, allowing the identification of possible treatment issues, data gaps and/or areas of improvement.

PD-L1 and BRAF Expression in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

The prognostic value of programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) and BRAF expression in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is not well-defined. In this study the investigators investigated alterations in PD-L1, BRAF and EGFR by using immunohistochemistry analysis in a cohort of consecutively enrolled NPC patients.

Cancer Loyalty Card Study

Ovarian Neoplasms

Approximately 7,400 new cases of ovarian cancer are diagnosed each year in the United Kingdom (UK), and with over 4,000 women dying from the disease each year it is a particularly lethal form of cancer. The symptoms for ovarian cancer are not well known and vague, and most women are diagnosed at a late stage when the cancer has already spread around the abdominal cavity with poor prognosis. Novel methods are needed to improve earlier detection and thereby improve survival from this disease. The Cancer Loyalty Card Study (CLOCS) proposes to use loyalty card data from two participating high street retailers to investigate purchase behaviour as an opportunity for cancer symptom surveillance. The investigators aim to conduct a case-control study of ovarian cancer patients matched with women without ovarian cancer and to explore public preferences for how to communicate potential outcomes of the commercial and health data linkages back to individuals. Eligible participants will be women in the UK who own at least one loyalty card with the participating high street retailers. Of these women, those who have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer are eligible to participate in the study as cases, while women who have not been diagnosed with ovarian cancer are eligible to participate as controls. Upon choosing to participate, all participants will be asked to complete a short questionnaire about well-established ovarian cancer risk factors and common symptoms either in the clinic (cases) or online/from a packet in the mail(controls). This information will be used in risk assessment for ovarian cancer of participants, which will be used at the analysis stage.

Noncurative Endoscopic Resection of Colorectal Adenocarcinoma

Noncurative Resection

Patients with noncurative resection after ESD for CRC were considered for additional surgical treatment. Then, they either underwent surgery with curative intent or did not, according to patients choice and surgeons indication / contraindication. We performed a retrospective revision of outcome data by clinical report review or phone calls.
