A Study To Monitor Lung Cancer Patients Activity And Assess Performance Status Through A Wearable...

Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC)

The current research is a non-interventional (NIS) study seeking to support objective Performance Status (PS) assessments in the particular context of metastatic NSCLC adult patients. To do so, the study comprises two phases. Phase I addresses a feasibility mixed-methods (quantitative-qualitative) approach. It primarily focuses on examining perceived technology usability in a limited sample of participants and feasibility of translating the actigraph data into PS scores (focus expert group). Phase II focuses on to primarily examine associations between technology collected data and ECOG-PS in a larger sample of participants.

Anastomotic Leakage and Value Of Indocyanine Green in Decreasing Leakage Rates

Colo-rectal CancerCrohn Disease1 more

Anastomotic leakage (AL) is one of the major complications after gastrointestinal surgery. Compromised tissue perfusion at the anastomosis site increases the risk of AL. Indocyanine green (ICG) combined with fluorescent near infrared imaging has proven to be a feasible and reproducible application for real-time intraoperative quantification of the tissue perfusion and cohort studies showed reduced leakage rate. Unfortunately, these studies were not randomized. Therefore, we propose a nationwide randomized controlled trial to identify the value of ICG for AL in colorectal anastomosis.

Perfusion Rate Assessment by Near-infrared Fluorescence in Gastrointestinal Anastomoses

Bowel ObstructionBowel Ischemia10 more

In this prospective, non-randomized cohort study, real-time intraoperative visualization using near-infrared-fluorescence by indocyanine green injection (ICG-NIRF) is performed at two to three time points during procedures of upper GI, lower GI and hepatobiliary surgery with anastomosis formation in open or laparoscopic surgery. Postoperatively, a detailed software-based assessment of each recording is performed to determine the objective ICG-NIRF perfusion rate before and after anastomosis formation, which is then correlated with the 30 day postoperative clinical outcome including occurrence of anastomotic leak.

Short-term and Oncological Outcomes of Laparoscopic Colorectal Cancer Surgery in Obese Patients...

ObesityColorectal Cancer

A total of 138 consecutive patients who underwent laparoscopic-assisted or open colectomy for colorectal cancer (CRC) were included in the present study. Subjects commonly shared a condition of overweight or obesity. The investigators aimed to define any difference between the two different groups (open vs laparoscopic-assisted surgery) and a series of outcomes, i.e. hospitalization, Lymph nodes number, Intra-Surgery complications, and Clavien Dindo score.

Ki67 Proliferation Index of Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasia

Neuroendocrine Tumors

This is a retrospective, monocentric study involving 50 patients with pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasia resected between January 2008 and June 2020 at Paoli Calmettes Institute. The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the grade concordance rate, based on Ki67 obtained on the pre-operative micro-biopsy and the surgical specimen. Based on the histology slides obtained in the course of the treatment, several Ki67 recounts will be performed on pre-operative tumor micro-biopsies and on tumors resected after surgery: a manual count (on photo printed in the hotspot area according to World Health Organization (WHO) 2017 recommendations, by an expert pathologist and a junior pathologist. Automated counting using specific software based on artificial intelligence (Qpath software). On the other hand, clinical, surgical and anatomopathological data will be collected in order to follow the patient evolution.

Non-interventional, Prospective Study to Determine Prevalence of EGFR Mutations in Non-small Cell...

Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

This prospective, multicountry, multicentre, non-interventional study plans to include patients who have undergone surgery for early-stage (IA to IIIB on the basis of pathologic criteria) non-squamous NSCLC up to 6 weeks prior to enrolment into the study. The main objective of this study is to determine the prevalence of EGFRm in patients with surgically resected early-stage (IA to IIIB) non-squamous NSCLC as there are limited data on its prevalence in this patient population.
