Retrospective Epidemiological Study of Lung Cancer With Low-dose Multislice Computed Tomography...
Lung CancerLung cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related death in Taiwan. Early diagnosis of lung cancer may improve cancer survival. Low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) was thought to be the best screening tool for lung cancer. However, there is growing concerns about radiation exposure, high cost, and high rate of false-positive screening result. Epidemiology data for LDCT screening in Taiwan is lacking. National Taiwan University Hospital Chu-Tung Branch (NTUHCT) initiated the lung cancer screening by LDCT since June 2015. Many people can get the LDCT screening with affordable price with the subsidy from enterprise donation. The purpose of this study is establishing local epidemiological result via telephone follow-up and patients' medical records retrospectively.

Signal Detection in Monoclonal and New Agents in Lymphoma
LymphomaNon Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) is the 5th cancer in France. Advances in NHL therapy have resulted in improved cure rates with a 5 year relative survival rate estimated at 55% and a 5-year prevalence estimate of 27,750 cases. Since 2000, the addition of anti-CD20 antibody to the standard treatment regimen composed of cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone (CHOP) led for the first time to decline of the specific mortality. After treatment, patients with NHL experienced elevated risks for therapy-related leukemia, several solid tumors and late toxicities such as cardiovascular or neuro-psychiatric diseases which impact on quality of life. However little is known concerning long-term toxicity of this class of new agents so called "targeted drugs" such as anti-CD20. The primary objective of this cohort study is to estimate long term toxicity in NHL patients (i.e. 10 to 20 years) using data already collected (i.e. internal analysis) and to compare drugs consumption to that of controls (i.e. external analysis).

Compassionate Use of MitoGel in Upper Tract Urothelial Carcinoma
Urothelial Carcinoma Ureteral LocationThe aim of this study is to evaluate the feasibility, safety, and efficacy of MitoGel in the treatment of UTUC in a human subject with low-grade UTUC which is endoscopically unresectable or rapidly recurring, and in whom nephrectomy would likely result in the need for permanent hemodialysis. The study drug would be obtained under the single patient access program approved by the FDA. The patient would then undergo instillation of MitoGel into the affected kidney. The catheter would be left indwelling in the ureter and would be externalized. The ureteral and urethral catheters would remain indwelling for the duration of the 6 treatments, which would occur twice weekly for 3 weeks or once weekly for 6 weeks. Following the final instillation, the catheters would be removed. The patient would then undergo ureteroscopic evaluation at 3 months following the final instillation of MitoGel. The total duration of study would be 3 months. The total number of study patients is 1.

Advanced MR Imaging in Sarcoma Patients
SarcomaWe intend to investigate the clinical application of two emerging imaging modalities for which the technical capability is currently in place at Mayo Clinic. The treatment of Ewing Sarcoma (ES), Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) and soft tissue sarcoma (STS) patients on this study will involve multi-disciplinary contributions from nationally recognized sarcoma experts in Radiation Oncology, Radiology, Orthopedic Surgery, Pediatric Oncology, Medical Oncology and Pathology. Patients will undergo additional magnetic resonance (MR) imaging at the same time as the standard imaging. The ability to compare several imaging modalities within a single cohort of patients maximizes the potential of the study to impact the future management of sarcoma patients. The collaborative nature of this study, with essential contributions from many departments will undoubtedly improve the coordinated care of sarcoma patients and naturally disseminate the advanced imaging experience that is acquired.

Validation of DNA Methylation Biomarkers for Oral Cancer Detection
Oral CancerRecurrenceThe purpose of this study is to investigate the correlation between DNA methylation and the treatment and recurrence of oral cancer.

Feasibility of Activity Monitoring in Patients With Cancer: Physical Activity Monitoring in Cancer...
Gastrointestinal CancerBreast Cancer7 moreThis is an open label feasibility pilot study of commercially available physical activity monitoring devices in patients receiving systemic therapy at the Harold Simmons Cancer Center, UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Compassionate Use Arm - ABI541 ABI for 10 NF2 Patients
Neurofibromatosis Type 2Severe Profound Sensorineural Hearing LossThe Nucleus 24 Auditory Brainstem Implant (ABI) is the only FDA approved device for restoration of meaningful hearing in Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF2) patients. This device has been discontinued, meaning that there is no commercially approved device currently available. The replacement model, the ABI541 (an unapproved device), is being investigated in ongoing clinical trials. A compassionate use arm of a clinical trial allows patients with NF2 to be implanted with this new ABI.

A Prospective Feasibility Study for TAMIS
Rectal CancerMost recently, the Transanal Minimally Invasive Surgery (TAMIS) approach combined with single-port technology has allowed that pelvic surgery can be laparoendocopically performed from both its abdominal and perineal aspects.Previously, a strong negative association between medium- and long-term survival and male gender with narrow pelvis have been reported. TAMIS has a significant potantial for improving the quality of the surgical resection of rectal tumors in men with visceral obesity and narrow pelvis. This group of patients have also a high rate of conversion to open surgery. Focusing on improvement in intraoperative conditions and surgical techniques rather than routine conventional procedures may be the way to go concerning favorable short- and long-term outcomes. The selection of adequate surgical approach to the high-risk patients with visceral obesity and a bulky mesentery may prevent or limit the risk for anastomotic leakage and improve oncologic margin clearence. This is a prospective observational feasability study of the TAMIS-procedure.

Utility Study in Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL)
Diffuse Large B-Cell LymphomaThis study is a prospective, cross-sectional survey to be administered to real patients in remission from DLBCL using a 15-minute postal or online survey. The project is designed to describe the impact of DLBCL remission on health utility and quality of life. Data collection will occur over a 4-month period.

Understanding the Molecular and Genetic Differences Between Germ Cell Tumor at the Time of the Initial...
NeoplasmsGerm Cell and EmbryonalThe current proposal is a pilot study. The Investigators plan to use next generation genome sequencing (NGGS) to define the molecular and genetic profiles of 3 cases of germ cell tumor (GCT) (with a component of yolk sac tumor) at the time of the initial diagnosis and 3 cases of late relapse GCT's, which are characterized by yolk sac tumor (and AFP secreting) predominant disease. Investigators seek to demonstrate the feasibility of obtaining tissue biopsies (either archived or new biopsy) and utilization of NGGS in studying the molecular and genetic relationships between GCT's (with a component of yolk sac tumor) at the time of diagnosis and GCT's at the time of late relapse. This study will also provide preliminary information on genetic alterations, which may be a hypothesis for generating another study.
