Prostatic NeoplasmsProstatic Adenoma

To elucidate the role of CTC detection in the evaluation of risk level in PCa patients, and establish a mathematic model for predicting the pathological status. To explore the possible subtle change in CTC condition after radical prostatectomy.

Explore the Clinical Value of 68Ga-DOTANOC PET/CT and 18F-FDG PET/CT in Neuroendocrine Neoplasms...

Neuroendocrine Tumors

68Ga-DOTANOC and 18F-FDG PET/CT have important values in the staging and clinical treatment of neuroendocrine tumors. Retrospective studies suggest that the positivite rates and SUVmax of dual imaging associated with pathological findings and prognosis. The study was designed to confirm thet clinical values of dual imagings for neuroendocrine tumors.

OCT-AF Imaging of Pre-cancers of Vulva and Cervix

Cervical DysplasiaVulvar Dysplasia3 more

The multimodal imaging technology, OCT-AFI, will be used to image sites on the cervix, the endocervical canal and vulva. The imaging probe is small enough, it can be inserted into the endocervical canal for imaging. The probe can also be placed in a conformable holder that can be shaped to conform the the folds of the vulva for vulvar imaging. The resultant images will be compared to histology images. The objectives are to determine feasibility of the technology in imaging vulva and its capability in detecting vulvar intraepithelial neoplasias feasibility in imaging cervix from endocervical canal to transformation zone to ectocervix if combined OCT with AFI increases the sensitivity of detecting high grade lesions in the cervix compared to just AFI alone (previous work was AFI alone).

Assessment Of Bladder Tumors Stage And Grade By Outpatient Flexible Cystoscopy Performed By Urology...

Bladder CancerFlexible Cystoscopy3 more

This will be a prospective trial comparing the perspective gross morphological of bladder tumor assessment done by outpatient flexible cystoscopy performed by resident, inpatient rigid cystoscopy done by senior staff and their prediction of the degree of invasion of bladder tumor plus the prediction of the grade compared with the standard pathological result. Also, assessment of the patient reported outcomes after both flexible and rigid cystoscopy will be done. In the long run of the study, the prognostic gross morphology with recurrence, progression and cancer specific survival will be assessed.

Anastomotic Leakage After Anterior Resection of Rectal Cancer

Rectal Cancer

Anastomotic leakage (AL) is one of the most-feared postoperative complications after anterior resection of rectal cancer. This complication compromises both short term and long term outcome of patients. The incidence of AL after anterior resection was approximately 6-11%. Although several risk factors for AL such as male sex, smoking, tumor location, longer operative time, intraoperative blood loss had been reported in previous studies, the incidence of AL did not meet a significant decrease. So far there is no multi-site observational study on incidence and risk factors of AL after anterior resection in China, therefore this study aims to work on this issue and provide evidence for clinical practice.

Surgeon-Anesthesiologist Collaboration

PheochromocytomaCollaboration

Collaboration between the surgeon and the anesthesiologist is key for delivering a safe pheochromocytoma surgery. This study aims to establish the collective performance of surgeon-anesthesiologist team by quantifying the relationship between their previous collaborations and patient complications.

Alternative Splicing and Leukemia Initiating Cells

Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Aberrant RNA splicing and mutations in spliceosome complex in acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) are frequent. It have been shown that some splicing variants had a prognostic value in AML. AML are characterized by their propensity to relapse because of the persistence of leukaemia initiating cells (LICs). The aim of this study is to determine the splice variants on AML initiator cells and define a splicing pattern.
