Microbiome and Papillary Thyroid Microcarcinoma

Papillary Thyroid MicrocarcinomaMicrobiome

It has been shown that gut microbiome and microbiome metabolism can regulate or control the initiation of a cancer process. To the best of the investigators knowledge, no study has directly shown the relationship of the thyroid microcarcinoma to the human microbiome. In this work, the aim is to detect the microbiome in peripheral blood in a patient with a thyroid gland carcinoma, and to correlate it with the disease, compared to the microbiome of a group of patients who did not find another thyroid gland carcinoma

A Prospective, Multi-centre, Single-blinded Study of UroCAD for Urothelial Carcinoma Diagnosis and...

Urothelial Carcinoma

Urothelial carcinoma (UC) is common malignancy and is considered to be one of the costliest cancers. The traditional diagnostic methods of UC present with some shortcomings. For example, the specificity of CTU remains low while cystoscopy is invasive and expensive. Therefore, a noninvasive diagnostic method with high accuracy is urgently needed. Our previous study has proved that UroCAD, which is able to detect chromosomal aberrations of the urine exfoliated cells, is a reliable method in diagnosing UC with sensitivity and specificity of 82.5% and 96.9%, respectively. But its potential in UC patient follow-up hasn't been assessed yet and the the accuracy of UroCAD in detecting UC still need to be further validated. The investigators here intended to investigate whether UroCAD can be used in UC patient follow-up and further validate the accuracy of UroCAD in diagnosing UC.

the Impact of Early Palliative Care on the Survival of Locally Advanced and / or Metastatic Cholangiocarcinoma...

Cholangiocarcinoma

The prognosis for cholangiocarcinoma is bad. Potentially, early management by a palliative care team could increase overall survival. We will also assess whether early management by a palliative care team could impact progression-free survival, the place of death and the date of the last chemotherapy, in particular to avoid unnecessary chemotherapy cures in an imminent end of life

Evolution of Cochleovestibular Schwannomas

Schwannoma

Investigators want to know the natural history of the vestibular schwannomas: increasing, decreasing or stability, by monitoring more than 3 MRIs during a span of more than 2 years. They will obtain 3 groups: the volume increasing schwannomas which will be the most important group, the schwannomas that will be stable and a small group where the schwannomas will decrease. The secondary purpose is that the investigators want to know the threshold values: a minimum volume under which we are sure that the schwannoma will not increase, a maximum value where it will increase and if its evolution can be correlated to clinical or radiological criteria.

Surveillance of Peripheral Blood of Lymphocyte and Immunocyte in Neoadjuvant Therapy Patients With...

Esophageal Squamous Cell CarcinomaNeoadjuvant Therapy1 more

Neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy treatment represents the standard approach for resectable locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. The incidence of pulmonary infection and other perioperative complications were higher in patients who received esophagectomy and neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy than those without neoadjuvant treatment and surgery patients. However, reliable clinical data can quantify the damage degree of immunologic function caused by chemotherapy and radiotherapy is still unknown. This project regards the level of lymphocyte and immunocyte in peripheral blood as a quantitative index to reflect the dynamic change of the immunologic function of patients with locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma after neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy treatment. Meanwhile, the investigators will also investigate the relationship between the level of lymphocyte and immunocyte in peripheral blood and the response rate of neoadjuvant therapy.

Reorganization of the Healthcare System During COVID-19 Pandemic: Impact on Management of Patients...

Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma

Pancreatic adenocarcinoma will be the 2nd cause of death by cancer in Europe in 2030. Pancreatic adenocarcinoma has poor prognosis with an all-stages combined 5-year survival rate below 8%. Since December 2019, a new coronavirus (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Corona Virus 2, SARS-CoV-2) is responsible of COVID-19 infection with potentially severe respiratory syndrome or even multi-organ failure. An increased risk of severe COVID-19 infection in cancer patients is suggested in several Chinese series. Cancer care structures quickly reorganized to limit high-risk situations (diagnostic procedure, major surgery, cytotoxic poly-chemotherapy) and use alternatives such as on-hold chemotherapy. These reorganizations could be associated with a loss of chance for pancreatic adenocarcinoma.

Early Detection of Barrett's Esophagus Through Deep Image Retrieval

Barrett Esophagus

Barrett's oesophagus is a condition in which the area between the oesophagus and stomach no longer closes, allowing acidic contents of the stomach to enter the oesophagus and damage the lining. The project aims to assist clinicians by offering informed biopsy process, in which the system presents the operator with clinical outcomes of patients with visually similar GI tracts. The project goal is to assess the use of artificial intelligence-based similarity detection systems to better inform biopsy placement, increasing the reliability of bi-yearly inspections.

Clinical Outcome of Autonomous Cortisol Secretion in Adrenal Incidentalomas

Adrenal Incidentaloma

The primary aim of the study is to assess mortality and cardiovascular events potentially linked to cortisol excess in patients with adrenal incidentalomas stratified by cortisol values following the 1-mg overnight dexamethasone test.

Study of Risk Factors for Intraductal Papillary Mucinous Neoplasms Degeneration at the Nancy CHRU...

Study of Risk Factors for IPMNs Degeneration at the Nancy CHRU

Cystic lesions of the pancreas are frequent with a risk of degeneration into adenocarcinoma with pejorative prognosis. IPMNs require characterization to clarify their potential for degeneration. Clinical and morphological risk factors for degeneration determine the monitoring rate and the indication for pancreatic surgery. Pancreatic surgery remains invasive with high morbidity and mortality rates.
