Pulmonary DiseaseChronic ObstructiveWhat are the differences between patients prescribed a new maintenance treatment for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) with tiotropium/olodaterol (TIO/OLO) or Inhaled Corticosteroids (ICS)-containing regimens in terms of sociodemographic, anthropometric and clinical characteristics?

Analysis of Lung Sounds Collected by RESP Biosensor to Support Decision Making in Monitored Hospitalized...
Pediatric Respiratory DiseasesAsthma2 moreThis observational clinical trial is designed to confirm whether RESP™ Biosensor could be deployed to support clinical decision making in challenging pediatric cases, minimize clinician-to-clinician variability in lung sound interpretation, obviate the need to disrupt change of shift or chart rounds with physicians, and create a durable archive of the patient's lung sounds for longitudinal comparison within or across hospitalizations.

A Prospective, Observational Study of COPD Patients in U.S. Hospitals
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary DiseaseThis is an observational study to evaluate the relationship between pulmonary function and the patient reported health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) related admissions. Patients with COPD will be approached to participate in the study. Pulmonary function will be measured on consented, eligible patients. The pulmonary function measurement collected will be used for cohort assignment. The prospective follow up period will monitor the cohorts for evidence of readmission and to assess HRQoL.

A Study of Cesium-131 Brachytherapy Following Sub-Lobar Resection for Early Stage Non Small Cell...
NSCLCNon Small Cell Lung CancerFor patients diagnosed with early (Stage I) non-small cell lung cancer, a lobe of lung is usually removed at surgery to treat the cancer. For some patients, the removal of a lobe of lung may leave too little lung behind for easy breathing. For some of these patients, it may be possible to perform a smaller-scale surgery ("sub-lobar resection") and place a radioactive implant behind to prevent the cancer from growing back. This study will see how these patients do in terms of controlling their disease treated with a radioactive implant called Cesium-131.

Comparison Of The Berlin Questionnaire To The Portland Sleep Quiz
Sleep ApneaThis trial is enrolling patients who are already being seen at OHSU sleep disorder center or have been referred for clinical reasons by their physician to the OHSU sleep disorder center and are going to have a sleep study that would be paid for by their insurance company for clinical reasons. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the Portland sleep apnea quiz has a higher specificity and negative predictive value then the Berlin Sleep Questionnaire in a patient population with a high predisposition to sleep apnea presenting to a sleep center.

Transfer Impedance in Cystic Fibrosis
Cystic FibrosisThis study aims to determine whether respiratory system transfer impedance (Ztr) may fill an important clinical function by providing a reproducible, valid, and sensitive measure of airway obstruction in people with CF.

Evaluation of Remote Patient Monitoring.
Congestive Heart FailureChronic Obstructive Pulmonary DiseaseNottingham Primary Care Trust has launched telemonitoring to support: independent living and self-management ability of people with congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and co-morbidities; and reduce the health care utilisation associated with these patients, including the number of hospitalisations, GP visits and community matron and specialist community nurse home visits. The Multidisciplinary Assessment of Technology Centre for Healthcare (MATCH) will evaluate the technology and its impact of this telemonitoring system on quality of care (i.e. process measures), patient outcomes and direct healthcare costs from an NHS perspective.
