Hypofraction Radiotherapy for Limited-Stage Small Cell Lung Cancer

Safety IssuesEfficacy1 more

Concurrent chemoradiotherapy is the standard modality for locally advanced small-cell lung cancer, which could achieve median overall survival of 25 mos. Conventional fractionation of 66Gy/33f and hyperfractionation of 45Gy/30f twice daily have been acknowledged as the two standard radiotherapy modalities according to CONVERT study. In 2021, a phase II trial demonstrated that 60Gy/40f twice daily was superior to the standard 45Gy/30f twice daily in light of overall survival (2y OS 74.2% vs. 39% p=0.0005), which to some extent implied that higher dose may confer better survival. Hypofractionated radiotherapy was another useful modality to increase biological effective dose with the advantage of short course and convenience. The effectiveness and safety of 60Gy/15f has been demonstrated in the treatment of locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer. Therefore, this trial is designed to explore the safety and primary efficacy of hypofraction radiotherapy for stage III locally advanced small cell lung cancer.

High Flow Nasal Oxygenation vs Endotracheal Intubation on Recovery Profiles in Laryngeal Microsurgery...

Cough

Transnasal humidified rapid-insufflation ventilatory exchange(THRIVE), or also termed high flow nasal oxygenation (HFNO) is a method of supplying heated, humidified high concentrations of oxygen via nasal cavity. This study hypothesizes that in general anesthesia for laryngeal microsurgery, high-flow nasal oxygen without endotracheal intubation reduces cough during the emergence period compared to endotracheal intubation.

A Platform Study of Novel Immunotherapy Combinations in Participants With Previously Untreated,...

Lung CancerNon-Small Cell

This study will evaluate the efficacy, safety, pharmacokinetics (PK), and pharmacodynamics (PDy) of novel immunotherapy combinations compared with immunotherapy monotherapy in participants with Programmed death ligand-1 (PD L-1) high (Tumor cells [TC]/ Tumor proportion score [TPS] ≥ 50%), previously untreated, unresectable, locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC. Drug name mentioned as Belrestotug, GSK4428859A, and EOS884448 are all interchangeable for the same compound. In the rest of the document, the drug will be referred to as Belrestotug.

NSCLC

A prospective, single-arm, non-randomized, multi-center, open-label study following patients with resectable stage IIB to IIIA non-small cell lung cancer after Pulsed Electric Fields (PEF) ablation who may be candidates for standard of care neoadjuvant use of checkpoint inhibitor (nivolumab) treatment plus platinum doublet chemotherapy.

H002 in Patients With EGFR Mutation Locally Advanced or Metastatic NSCLC

Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

This is a phase I/IIa, open-label, dose-escalation and expansion study to evaluate the safety, tolerability, PK and preliminary anti-tumor activity of H002 when given orally in patients with EGFR mutation-positive locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The study will contain two parts: Part A is dose escalation phase (i.e., Phase I) and Part B is dose expansion phase (i.e., Phase IIa).

Circulating Tumor DNA Guided Therapeutic Strategies for CRC Patients With Small Pulmonary Nodules...

Advanced Colorectal CancerCirculating Tumor DNA

The clinical diagnosis and treatment of small pulmonary nodules (suspected to be lung metastases) in advanced colorectal cancer patients remain controversy. Previous studies have shown that tumor-informed circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) blood testing can sensitively detect residual cancer. Postoperative ctDNA in colorectal cancer patients is a valuable biomarker to identify minimal residual disease (MRD) after radical resection, which is possibly useful in redefining the risk group of patients and guiding postoperative treatment. This study aimed to explore the clinical value of therapeutic strategies based on tumor-informed ctDNA test in advanved colorectal cancer patients with small pulmonary nodules.

Use of Passive Myofunctional Appliances for Snoring and Mild Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Sleep ApneaObstructive

It is unknown whether passive myofunctional appliances can be used for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea and snoring, nor how to select the appropriate size per individual patient. Exploring the possibility of using passive myofunctional appliances as a treatment option for patients with mild obstructive sleep apnea and/or snoring should be considered, especially as the time to fabricate and deliver custom designed dental sleep appliances can be significant (sometimes over a month). Use of passive myofunctional appliances as a transitional appliance or potentially as direct treatment for obstructive sleep apnea may significantly decrease time to treatment and also provide a less expensive treatment option for patients with obstructive sleep apnea. The purpose of this study is to determine whether passive myofunctional appliances can be used as a treatment option for patients suffering from snoring and mild obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
