Eligibility Criteria
DISEASE CHARACTERISTICS:
Meets one of the following criteria:
- Diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck
- Healthy volunteer matched by sex, race, birth decade, or smoking status (e.g., current smoker, former smoker, or nonsmoker)
