To Explore the Protective Effect of SARS-CoV-2 Vaccination on Cancer Patients Infected With SARS-CoV-2...

COVID-19 InfectionCOVID-19 Vaccine

For tumor patients, the virus antibody titer produced by the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine is often lower than that of normal people in a short period of time, but in the long run, it can significantly reduce the infection rate and fatality rate of the new coronavirus, and the adverse reactions are mild and there is no significant difference with normal people. However, there is still no real-world research data in China to prove the protective effect of the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine on patients with tumors infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 Study of Next Generation Non-Invasive Passive Detection Technologies

COVID-19SARS-CoV-2 Virus4 more

The goal of this observational study is to evaluate new non-invasive passive surveillance technologies, Level 42 AI imPulse™ for the detection of COVID-19 in asymptomatic and symptomatic individuals over age of 18 undergoing COVID-19 screening and testing at BAMC Ft Sam Houston, TX; with and without COVID-19. The hypotheses are: (H1) The imPulse™ Una e-stethoscope has at least a similar discriminative and detection ability among symptomatic and asymptomatic COVID-19 carrier versus those not infected compared to gold standard RT-PCR. Based on these promising studies, we will operationalize and deploy the imPulseTM Una e-stethoscope and other associated technology form factors into DoD use-cases. (H2) In the mid to long-term, this approach will also be explored as a diagnostic system to explore pursue the physical (structural and mechanical) properties of cells and tissues that maintain normal cell behavior (motility, growth, apoptosis), and the critical importance of the ability of cells to sense and respond to mechanical stresses, which will be operationally critical for assessment of both traumatic and unconventional exposures in austere environments. Participants will: Be consented; Be screened for COVID-19 symptoms according to BAMC's current screening procedures; Have study data collected; Complete a COVID-19 symptoms questionnaire; imPulseTM Una e-stethoscope examination will be conducted; Participants will be compensated for completing all study requirements. (Active-Duty personnel must complete the study procedures while off-duty in order to receive compensation.)

Study on the Antibody Level Against SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19)in Dazhu County in 2023

COVID-19

About 15,000 to 25,000 subjects will be screened. Their information will be collected, venous blood will be sampled, their serum antibody levels will be detected, and the incidence of COVID-19 wil be followed up.

Community Developed Technology-Based Messaging to Increase COVID-19 Vaccine Uptake Among People...

Covid19

People who inject drugs (PWID) experience disproportionate risk of being infected with SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, yet due to stigma, fear of mistreatment, and other factors, PWID are far less likely to be vaccinated compared to other populations. In response, we propose to continue our collaboration with a prominent community based organization serving African American and Latino PWID. Our project will explore baseline hesitancy to vaccinate among PWID, identify barriers to vaccination, and then develop and evaluate messaging designed to increase COVID-19 vaccination among our target population of PWID through a clinical trial.

COVID-19 Antibody Responses In Cystic Fibrosis

Covid19Cystic Fibrosis

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) which is caused by the virus SARS-CoV-2 has resulted in an ongoing global pandemic. It is unclear whether the relatively low number of reported cases of COVID-19 in people with CF (pwCF) is due to enhanced infection prevention practices or whether pwCF have protective genetic/immune factors. This study aims to prospectively assess the proportion of pwCF, including both adults and children with CF who have evidence of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies over a two-year period. This study will also examine whether pwCF who have antibodies for SARS-CoV-2 have a different clinical presentation and what impact this has on their CF disease. The proposed study will recruit pwCF from paediatric and adult CF centres throughout the United Kingdom. Serological testing to detect antibodies will be performed on blood samples taken at month 0, 6, 12, 18 and 24 with additional time-points if bloodwork is available via normal clinical care. Clinical data on, lung function, CF-related medical history, pulmonary exacerbations, antibiotic use, and microbiology and vaccination receipt, will be collected during routine clinical assessments. Associations will be examined between socio-demographic and clinical variables and serologic testing. The effects of SARS-CoV-2 infection on clinical outcomes and analyse end-points will be examined to explore any age-related or gender-based differences, as well as subgroup analysis of outcomes in lung-transplant recipients and pwCF receiving CFTR modulator therapies. As pwCF receive COVID-19 vaccination a comparison of the development and progression of anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in pwCF following natural infection and vaccination SARS-CoV-2 over time will be performed.

A Immuno-bridging and Immunization Schedules Study of COVID-19 Vaccine (Vero Cell), Inactivated...

Covid19

This trial is a randomized study to evaluate the immunogenicity of COVID-19 Vaccine (Vero Cell), Inactivated and in population aged 60 years old and 3-17 years old with different schedules compared to that in population aged 18-59 years old with 2-dose schedule. And subjects in the same age are randomly assigned to different immunization schedule groups.

Study of HMB-enriched Amino Acid Supplementation in Patients With Alcoholic Liver Disease and COVID-19...

Alcoholic Liver DiseaseCOVID 19 Pneumonia

Patients with COVID-19 and comorbidities including alcohol associated liver disease (ALD) are at risk for severe illness and abrupt or sudden clinical deterioration with ventilatory failure. â-hydroxy â-methyl butyrate (HMB), a non-nitrogenous leucine metabolite with anabolic properties, increases muscle mass and contractile function and enhances immune function. We aim to study the natural course of COVID-19 in patients with ALD and test whether HMB can affect ventilatory deterioration and improve short and long-term morbidity, mortality, and recovery from critical illness in symptomatic COVID-19 patients with ALD.

Treatment of Long CoronaVIrus Disease (COVID) (TLC) Feasibility Trial

COVID-19

The primary objective of this study is to assess the feasibility and acceptability of methods and procedures to be employed in a larger scale decentralized platform adaptive randomized clinical trial in patients with a history of a Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) positive test and/or medical records from a healthcare provider that coincides with the diagnosis of long-COVID.

Safety, Efficacy, and Dosing of VIX001 in Patients With Neurological Symptoms of Post Acute COVID-19...

Post-Acute COVID-19 SyndromeCognitive Impairment1 more

The study, identified as VIX001-PACS-01, is a Phase 1, open-label, dose-escalation trial evaluating the safety, tolerability, preliminary efficacy, and dose effect of VIX001, an amniotic fluid product, in patients with Post-Acute COVID-19 Syndrome (PACS) and cognitive impairment. Conducted at the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics, the trial aims to enroll up to nine participants, or up to 18 using a 3+3 dose escalation design. Intravenous injections of VIX001 will be administered at three ascending doses (1 ml, 3 ml, or 10 ml), and participants will be assessed for safety, cognitive impairment, pain, activity, and quality of life at baseline and various timepoints. The primary objective is to evaluate the safety of VIX001, while secondary objectives include assessing its potential efficacy and patient-reported outcomes. The study duration is expected to last approximately 18 months, including enrollment, evaluation, and post-study observation periods. The findings will contribute to understanding VIX001's safety and efficacy in treating PACS-related cognitive impairment.
