COVID-19 Disease & Vaccine Survey in Africa

COVID-19Vaccine Hesitancy

The COVID-19 pandemic is a public health concern; for which the WHO recommends protective measures and vaccination. There is inadequate data on the impact of COVID-19 vaccination and control measures in Africa. This survey is collecting data about people's knowledge, attitude and compliance regarding COVID-19 disease and vaccines.

Residual SARS-CoV-2 Presence in the Respiratory Tract and Lung Parenchyma (After SARS-CoV-2 Infection...

Covid19

The aim of this study is to confirm or rule out the residual presence and viability of SARS- CoV-2 in the respiratory tract and lung parenchyma of patients previously infected with SARS-CoV-2. Presence and viability of SARS-CoV-2 in lung tissue will be assessed with reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and viral culture. The histological location of residual SARS-CoV-2 will be determined with fluorescence immunohistochemistry and single molecule fluorescence in situ hybridization, targeting viral proteins and RNA respectively.

Health Information Technology for COVID-19 Testing in Schools (SCALE-UP Counts)

COVID-19

This project will address key testing challenges in Utah schools by building on collaborations with public school districts, private schools, charter schools and with Utah Department of Health on coronavirus disease (COVID-19) testing and existing infrastructure. The study team will work closely with schools and the Utah public health system to implement and test a shovel-ready and scalable health information technology approach that delivers automated text messages (TM) to students' parents and faculty/staff members around COVID-19 testing. In addition, some students and faculty/staff will receive a health navigator (HN) follow-up to ensure that tests are completed. Families (both of students and faculty/staff members) will be offered the recently FDA-approved in-home serial testing approach if accessing in-person testing is a challenge. While this project is focused on COVID-19 testing, in the case that the COVID-19 vaccination becomes more relevant or is the priority of the school, the study team is able to tailor the intervention to focus on the vaccine as well.

AI Evaluation of COVID-19 Sounds (AI-EChOS)

COVID-19COVID-19 Respiratory Infection4 more

In this study the investigators record sounds of voice, breaths and cough of subjects who tested positive for COVID19. The investigators then feed these sounds into an artificial intelligence and see if it can learn to recognise features to make COVID19 diagnosis from these sounds in order to avoid to use swabs to test the general population.

The Impact of COVID-19 on Pulmonary Procedures

COVID-19 InfectionHematopoietic and Lymphoid Cell Neoplasm1 more

This study investigates the changes in practice by pulmonary procedural programs across the United States as they faced the coronavirus pandemic. Information gathered from this study may help guide pulmonary programs on a wider scale and improve their practice. The study may also help researchers understand where they should focus research efforts to better respond to a pandemic in the future.

POC Study to Evaluate the Performance of the AcuVid COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Saliva Test

COVID-19

The AcuVid COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Saliva Test is a lateral flow immunoassay to detect SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid antigens in human saliva specimens from individuals suspected of COVID-19 by their healthcare provider within the first seven days of symptom onset, or from individuals without symptoms or other epidemiological reasons to suspect. The AcuVid COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Saliva Test performance will be compared to a high sensitivity FDA EUA approved RT-PCR COVID-19 test. Nasopharyngeal (for RT-PCR) swab results will be collected from subjects by healthcare providers at CLIA Waived COVID-19 Testing Centers, and on the same day the subjects will also provide saliva samples which will be tested and interpreted by the healthcare providers. This prospective, observational, study will test up to 300 participants to establish the performance characteristics of the AcuVid test on saliva specimens.

Remote Assessment of Outpatient With Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV-2)

SARS-CoV2 Infection

Outpatient management of patients with a milder form of COVID may be associated to an unfavorable initial or deferred course in relation to the pathology.. Outpatients represent the bulk of patients with COVID-19. To know their evolution, their secondary complications and identifying a profile of "at risk" patients is essential for the prevention and care of future non-hospitalized patients, in an epidemic context still active. This study could make it possible to redefine the follow-up of outpatients. The study consists of a simple questionnaire and possibly a teleconsultation.

COVID-19 Vaccine Induced Adaptive Immune Responses

SARS-CoV-2Vaccine1 more

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the infection of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2),resulting in more than 82 million confirmed cases and caused around 1.8 million deaths, as of 2 January 2021. The ongoing pandemic still poses unprecedented global threat to public health system worldwide. On December 31, 2020, the joint prevention and control agency of China Council announced that Sinopharm SARS-CoV-2 inactivated vaccine had been conditionally approved by National Medical Products Administration, and the protection rate was 79.34%. So far, more than 198 vaccines were currently in preclinical or clinical development. The investigators aimed to initiate an observational cohort of healthy individuals injected with SARS-CoV-2 Vaccine, which will perform a longitudinal, comprehensive analysis of the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine Induced adaptive immune responses.
