ACTIV-3b: Therapeutics for Severely Ill Inpatients With COVID-19
Covid19This study looks at the safety and effectiveness of different drugs in treating COVID-19 in people who have been hospitalized with the infection and who have acute respiratory failure. Participants in the study will be treated with either a study drug plus current standard of care (SOC), or with placebo plus current SOC.
Improving Cognitive Health in COVID-19 Survivors
Cognitive DysfunctionCovid19The primary objective of this study is to investigate the efficacy of AKL-T01, a remotely-delivered digital cognitive intervention, relative to a waitlist control in improving cognitive functioning in COVID-19 survivors.
Effects of Breathing Exercises on Fear of COVID-19, Anxiety, Sleep and Quality of Life During the...
Healthy AdultsIt has been reported that in the first stages of the pandemic, a significant portion of the general population experienced psychological problems such as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic disorders. These problems persist today. A balanced diet, physical activity participation and relaxation techniques are recommended for preventing such problems. In studies conducted before the pandemic, it is reported that breathing exercises have positive effects on anxiety, sleep and quality of life in both patients and healthy individuals. Aim of this study is to investigate the effects of breathing exercises applied via teleconference on fear of COVID-19, anxiety, sleep and quality of life in healthy adult population.
A Trial to Investigate Recovery From COVID-19 With C21 in Adult Subjects
Covid19This trial is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, 2-arm, multicenter trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of C21 versus placebo as add on to SoC in adult subjects with COVID-19. The trial will enroll a total of maximum 300 randomized subjects, 150 per arm (oral C21 100 mg twice a day (b.i.d.) or placebo for 14 days) according to the 1:1 randomization.

Standardized Olive Leaf Capsules; as a Co-therapy in the Treatment of COVID-19 Patients
Covid19COVID-19 Respiratory Infection3 moreStarting from December 2019, novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has caused a tremendous economic loss and unprecedented health crisis across the globe. Discovering an effective and safe drug candidates for the treatment of COVID-19 and its associated symptoms became a global urgent demand especially due to limited data that have been released regarding the vaccine efficacy and safety in humans. Reviewing the recent research, Olive leaf was selected as a potential co-therapy supplement for the treatment and the improvement of clinical manifestations in COVID-19 patients. Olive leaves reported to be rich in phenolic compounds such as oleuropein, hydroxy tyrosol, verbascoside, apigenin-7-glucoside and luteolin-7-glucoside which has been reported as anti-SARS-CoV-2 metabolites in recent In silico, computational and in vitro studies. In addition, olive leaf extract was previously reported in several in vivo studies for its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic, immunomodulatory and anti-thrombotic activities which is of a great benefit in the control of associated inflammatory cytokine storm and disseminated intravascular coagulation in COVID-19 patients. A placebo-controlled, randomized clinical trial at Fayoum University Hospital in Egypt will be conducted. RT-PCR confirmed COVID-19 adults showing mild to moderate disease will be enrolled in the study. Patients presenting with multi-organ failure, ventilator support, and chronic diseases (except diabetes mellitus and hypertension) were excluded. Patients were randomly assigned in 1:1 ratio to receive standardized olive leaves capsules (containing 20-50% oleuropein) or placebo up-to 10 days along with standard care. The expected outcomes included symptom alleviation, viral clearance, improvement of analysis (CBC, CRP, LDH, ESR, Ferritin, D-dimer, creatinine, ALT and AST) and a 10-day mortality in intention-to-treat population.

A Study to Evaluate the Safety and Immunogenicity of Ad5-nCoV and Ad5-nCoV-IH in CoronaVac Immunized...
COVID-19This is a multicenter, randomized, and open-label study to evaluate the immune responses and safety profiles of children aged 6-12 years and adolescents aged 13-17 years receiving Ad5-nCoV (intramuscular injection) or Ad5-nCoV-IH (nebulized inhalation) ≥ 90 days after receiving two doses of CoronaVac.
Effects of Respiratory Muscle Training in Individuals With Long-term Post-COVID-19 Symptoms
Covid19Post-acute COVID-19 SyndromeThe main objective of the present study is to observe the short-term effects of respiratory muscle training combined with an exercise training program on quality of life and exercise tolerance in individuals with long-term post-COVID-19 symptoms. As secondary objectives, the effects on respiratory muscle function, physical and lung function, as well as on the psychological state of these individuals.
Effect of a Third COVID-19 Booster Among Health Care Workers
COVID-19 VaccinesA new wave of COVID-19 infections, mainly caused by the Omicron/ Delta variant, has been sweeping the globe since the start of 2022. In response, the administration of a third dose of COVID-19 vaccine was considered to address potential waning immunity over time and reduced effectiveness against the Omicron/ Delta variant. The pandemic also resulted in many infections among health care workers (HCWs) and their households. In this study, a retrospective analysis would perform on risk of COVID-19 infection and their outcome in relation to their COVID-19 vaccination history by using the data repository from one of the Hong Kong private hospitals. HCWs were required to submit a standardized online self-declaration form for report of 1) demographic of the HCWs, 2) symptoms related history and 3) COVID-19 exposure history once they were COVID-19 confirmed by rapid antigen test against COVID-19 and/or polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test for COVID-19. Subsequent follow up such as contact tracing, COVID-19 PCR testing results of these HCWs and status of return to work were captured by the infection control team in a systematic manner.
