Although its safety and efficacy in the COVID-19 patient population are still unclear, tocilizumab is one of treatment. Tocilizumab is a U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved IL-6 receptor antagonist widely used to treat CRS secondary to the chimeric antigen receptor T cell. In this study the investigators will evaluate the efficacy of Tocilizumab, an IL-6 antagonist administered in the early period in intensive care patients with COVID-19 pneumonia followed by hypoxic and systemic inflammation is predominant, but who do not support mechanical ventilation.

Network-Targeted Strategies for Efficient Community SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Sampling

The primary objective is to use "network targeted sampling design" to detect active and/or undiagnosed cases of COVID-19 in the community and determine the spread or distribution of 1) active infection, and 2) past exposure. The hypothesis is that there are many undiagnosed and/or asymptomatic people in the community who may be unknowingly spreading the virus or have been exposed and have antibodies. We propose to implement respondent-driven sampling (RDS) which leverages effort on the part of seed or index cases to recruit contacts for participation.

The aim of this study was to examine potential changes in children' and adolescents' dietary and lifestyle (physical activity, sedentary behaviour and sleep) habits during the quarantine that was implemented in Greece due to COVID-19. An online survey in a random sample of families across Greece was conducted. Parents self-reported their children's and their own dietary and lifestyle habits, as well as information about their sociodemographic status.

While the practice of regular physical activity (PA) is prescribed and widely recognized as effective for the management of many chronic conditions and that regular participation in sports (SA) reduces the risk of injury and cardiac accidents- vascular disease in sports subjects, the reduction in regular physical activity levels in the wake of the period of confinement is likely to induce a medical risk in connection with the resumption of PSA.

This study will test and follow persons quarantined at home after testing positive for SARS-CoV-2 (COV) aged 18 years and older and their household members aged 1 year and older. The purpose of this research study is to understand how often COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019) spreads in the household when someone who tests positive for the virus self-isolates at home. The purpose of the extension part of the study is to help us understand long-term immunity to COVID-19. We are interested in how our immune system might still protect us from COVID-19 even after antibody levels decrease or are no longer detected. We are also interested in how immunity to COVID-19 is different in kids vs. adults.

All patients with heart disease should have the opportunity to participate in research into their condition, to advance knowledge and treatment. The HeartHive COVID-19 study is an international online pilot observational cohort study evaluating the impact and clinical outcomes of the COVID-19 pandemic on subjects enrolled in the HeartHive. Cardiomyopathies are progressive diseases, and there is a need to better understand what factors affect the chances of developing cardiomyopathy, and how the condition progresses. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on patients with cardiomyopathy has not been explored and represents a critical unmet need. Insights into exposure, healthcare outcomes, behavioural changes and the psychosocial ramifications of the pandemic are required to better understand the health needs of this population during these unprecedented circumstances and to adapt clinical services to meet these. The study will entail completing serial online surveys during the pandemic. This study uses The Heart Hive - an international, online registry of patients with self-reported clinically diagnosed cardiomyopathy, and people without heart disease. Participants enrol and upload their own data through the website. It is the second research study that will be offered to registry participants and delivered through The Heart Hive platform.

The investigators will evaluate the profile of the immune response of Ethiopian population and examine its relationship with the noted low CD4+ T-cell count and underlying immune activation status among participants with COVID-19 and will compare results with those residing in Europe. In addition, this project will evaluate the performance of various rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) for SARS-CoV-2, taking into account the above-determined immune system characteristics. This study is intended to address the association between vitamin D status and seroconversion to SARS-CoV-2 in healthy young adults. The primary aim of the study is to determine the rates of 'silent' seroconversion rates, consistent with asymptomatic transmission of SARS-CoV-2, in a young healthy adult population with a wide spread of vitamin D concentrations. The secondary aims of this study are to explore: Any effect of vitamin D status on symptomatic illness. The background 'point' prevalence and subsequent rate of increase in seropositivity for SARS-CoV-2 in healthy young adults. The individual reductions in seropositivity to SARS-CoV-2 over time, and changes in seropositivity in a defined young adult population over time. Where salivary Immunoglobulin A (IgA) may be used to provide an alternative/ complementary serological method The effect (if any) of vitamin D supplementation on seroconversion rates stratified by: i) level of baseline vitamin D 'deficiency/ insufficiency/ sufficiency' status; ii) extent of BMI-defined normal/overweight/obesity cut-offs and iii) gender.
