This will be a prospective study simulating return to school for two full days prior to the start of the school year in September. Volunteer students and teachers from six grade ranges will be recruited to participate in the study. In each grade range, there will be two classes that will participate, one that will be assigned to wear face masks/coverings at all times (experimental group/class) and the other that will not wear face masks/coverings at all times (control group/class). Students will be randomized to either the masking at all times (experimental across all grades) or no masking (control across JK-Grade 4) / masking only when physical distance can be maintained (control across Grade 5-Grade 12) class in their appropriate grade. Personal behaviours and person-to-person interactions will be recorded using video cameras. In addition, a safe biological indicator will be applied to the hands to simulate potential asymptomatic infection in a subset of students. Other students will have sanitizer applied so that students are blinded to who has the indicator. Cameras will be used to document how the indicator moves throughout the classroom.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, people's lives have changed dramatically. People with lung cancer who are shielding may have been particularly affected as they may be unable to carry out many of their normal daily activities, such as grocery shopping and exercise, and are unable to interact with friends and family. People with lung cancer will also have experienced some changes to the clinical services available to them at The Christie. Using a questionnaire and interviews, the investigators want to understand patient experiences of the changes in their daily lives and the changes to their clinical care. This will help us to see if people with lung cancer need any additional support services or if there are any changes the investigators can make to clinical services to improve patient experiences. Eligible patients will be any lung cancer patients receiving current treatment or in active follow up.

Athletes in martial arts compete in categories separated by body weight, hence, many athletes need to adjust their habitual body weight during periods with competition preparation. Athletes competing in weight sensitive sports are previously identified with an increased risk for symptoms of low energy availability and of disordered eating. The methods used for body weight regulation are varied, and athletes without professional competent support, are prone to rely on harmful methods. And of importance, female athletes respond more negatively to attempts of body weight reduction with regards to health effects. Athletes of martial art are not surrounded by the same professional competence seen in other organized sports within the international sport federations, and specifically health competence is lacking. Additionally, numbers of females competing in martial art have increased the last decade, but they still practice in a sport culture dominated by males; both with reference to the high number of male participants, and with reference to the coaches within this sport. Sports involving practice in intimate, physical interaction with coaches or opposing athletes, and in sports where clothing is minimal, may be a high risk of experiences of sexual harassment. There have been a few reports on harmful methods of body weight regulation within martial arts, however, little knowledge exists on the practice by female martial art athletes, and the related health effects. Information on experiences of sexual harassment have been sparse in sport generally, with very little knowledge from sports like martial arts specifically. This study aims to explore the practice of female martial art athletes on body weight regulation, recovery strategies, their body acceptance and symptoms of eating disorders, and any experiences of sexual harassment. Additionally, with regards to the recent onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, this study also explores the related experiences by the athletes on training- and eating routines.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the strategy of investigators for outpatients SARS-CoV-2 moderate pneumonia management in terms of efficacy and patient safety. The investigators ultimate goal is to validate first wave management strategy in order to support the investigators future approach in the event of a second wave, and spare the hospital resources by safely keeping at home as many patients as possible.

Although the direct damage from the viruses contributes to the initiation of the disease, the cytokine storm caused by COVID-19 plays a vital role in the development of acute lung injury and adult respiratory distress syndrome. IL-6, a kind of pleiotropic cytokine, is expressed by immune cells such as DC, monocytes, macrophages, B cells, and subsets of activated T cells, as well as by non-immune cells like fibroblasts, epithelial cells, and keratinocytes

It is known that vitamin D has been found to decrease incidence of viral respiratory infections, as well as have effects on multiple cytokines involved in immunomodulation and the bradykinin/renin-angiotensin system. Recently, data was released showing a correlation between baseline vitamin D deficiency status and increased risk of contracting COVID-19. Separate analysis shows that many of the deleterious effects of COVID-19 may be due to the bradykinin/RAS system, and that vitamin D is one plausible treatment option to modulate these effects. Studies are currently ongoing to determine if vitamin D supplementation of those hospitalized with COVID-19 has a beneficial effect on patient outcomes. Healthcare resources have been strained during the pandemic in areas of heavy caseload. It is possible that those with concurrent vitamin D deficiency and COVID positivity have an increased need for escalation of care. A small study has been conducted in this area, but was limited by small number of subjects.

Recent different biomarkers of acute kidney injury (AKI) have been manufactured by pharmaceutical industry. Studies proved that Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) and cystatin c are effective predictive biomarkers for early acute kidney injury in septic patients and in children after cardiopulmonary bypass. This study hypothesize that both cystatin c and Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin can predict AKI in patients with COVID-19 before elevation of serum urea and creatinine which may help early interference.

During the novel coronavirus pandemic, also known as SARS-CoV-2 or COVID-19 pandemic, frontline healthcare professionals suffered psychological as well as pathological trauma due to the lack of preparation to cope with this unforeseen situation. The protocols to prevent the spread of this disease proved to be less effective than anticipated. In these circumstances, improvement of the existing triage system was felt and an AUDIO-VISUAL TRIAGE (AVT) system was introduced to enhance confidence as well as increase the safety of frontline healthcare professionals. The current analysis was performed from March 21, 2020, to April 28, 2020, until the completion of sixty response forms, at Bahria Town International Hospital, Lahore. Thirty participants (Group A) deployed on visual triage and other thirty (Group B) on Audio-Visual triage for screening suspected cases of COVID-19 infection. Anxiety levels were measured by using the GAD-7 scoring system and the participants of both groups were periodically tested for COVID-19 infection by PCR. Independent t-test was used to evaluate the significance of different variables at a confidence level of 95%.

Azithromycin (AZ) is used in the pediatric group in COVID-19 diseas. It has been reported to cause prolongation in the QT interval in adult age group. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of AZ on ventricular repolarization in COVID-19 positive pediatric patients. METHOD The study was conducted prospectively in July-August 2020. COVID-19 pediatric patients who received AZ treatment were included in the study. ECG was obtained before treatment and on the 1st, 3rd and 5th days after the treatment. Measurements were made with Image J program®. QTmax, QTmin, Tp-emax, Tp-emin intervals were measured. QTcmax, QTcmin, Tp-ecmax, Tp-ecmin, QTcd, Tp-ecd, and QTc / Tp-ec ratios were calculated with Bazett formula.
