Using Caring Contacts to Reduce Psychiatric Morbidity Following Hospitalization During the COVID-19...

Psychiatric Hospitalization

Subjects will be recently discharged patients from Sunnybrook Inpatient Psychiatry Unit. Subjects will be randomized in a 1:1 ratio to either the Caring Contact intervention or usual care. 75 subjects will be enrolled in each arm. In additional to usual discharge-related care, subjects in the caring contact group will receive brief emails that convey a message of hope and provide resources. These emails will be sent on days 4, 21, and 56 post-discharge. The specific content of these emails will be pre-determined varying slightly by time point. In contrast, the control group will only receive usual discharge-related care, including discharge planning and also a sheet of resources normally provided to patients. A widely used and validated measure will be employed to assess depression and anxiety symptoms. The 25-item self-report Hopkins Symptom Checklist will be emailed to all subjects at baseline, day 4, 21, and 56 post-discharge, along with the Caring Contact communication. It is hypothesized that there will be a significantly greater reduction in mental health symptoms among patients receiving Caring Contacts compared to those who receive usual care.

COVID-19 Quarantine on Musculoskeletal Status in Hemophilia

Hemophilia Arthropathy

Background. The recurrence of hemarthrosis in patients with congenital coagulopathies favors the development of a progressive, degenerative and intra-articular lesion (hemophilic arthropathy) that mainly affects the knees, ankles and elbows. Pain is one of the main clinical manifestations of hemophilic arthropathy. As a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of Spain, among others, established a total confinement for two months, in order to avoid contagion of the population Objective. To assess the effect of COVID-19 confinement on bleeding frequency, pain perception, and range of motion in patients with hemophilic arthropathy. Study design. Prospective observational study. Method. 27 patients with hemophilia A and B will be included in this study. Patients will be recruited from the Spanish Hemophilia Federation (Fishemo) specialized center for hemophilia patients. The dependent variables will be: the frequency of bleeding (through a self-report), the perception of pain (measured with the visual analog scale and a pressure algometer), the joint state (with the Hemophilia Joint Health Score), and the range of joint movement (measured with a goniometer). Two evaluations will be carried out: pre-treatment (carried out in the month of February, as a periodic evaluation) and post-treatment (at the end of the period of confinement in Spain). Expected results. The aim is to observe the sequelae caused by confinement and a sedentary lifestyle in patients with hemophilic arthropathy, through changes in joint status, pain and range of motion.

COVID-19 Vaccine Messaging, Part 1

VaccinationCOVID-19

This study tests different messages about vaccinating against COVID-19 once the vaccine becomes available. Participants are randomized to 1 of 12 arms, with one control arm and one baseline arm. We will compare the reported willingness to get a COVID-19 vaccine at 3 and 6 months of it becoming available between the 10 intervention arms to the 2 control arms. Study participants are recruited online by Lucid, which matches census based sampling in online recruitment.

Assessment of the Prevalence and the Impact of the COVID-19 Epidemic in the French Flight Crew in...

Covid19SARS-CoV Infection

The aeronautical community was also affected and greatly impacted economically and socially by the Covid-19 pandemic. Away from the acute phase, the epidemiological impact and the consequences of this disease within the French aviation flight crew population must be assessed. This study is aimed at providing original epidemiological data among civil and military aircrew, prior to possible prevention strategies or countermeasures to optimize risk management in terms of aviation safety and to promote, if necessary, future targeted studies.

Allocetra-OTS in COVID-19

COVID-19

This is a multi-center, open-label study evaluating the safety of Allocetra-OTS, in 5 subjects with severe COVID-19 and respiratory dysfunction. Subjects, who will be identified as suffering from COVID-19, will be recruited. After signing an informed consent by the patient and, within 24+6 hours following the time of eligibility (time 0), on Day 1, eligible recipient subjects will receive single intravenous (IV) administration of investigational product as described below. Subjects will be hospitalized for COVID-19, and later as medically indicated. Following investigational product (IP) administration (Day 1), subjects will be followed for efficacy and safety assessments through 28 days.

An Observational Study of the Use of Siltuximab (SYLVANT) in Patients Diagnosed With COVID-19 Infection...

Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (ARDS) Secondary to SARS-COV-2 Infection

This observational study will collect data from patients treated with siltuximab program for treatment of SARS-CoV-2 infection complicated with serious respiratory complications. This observational study will group the patients into two cohorts receiving siltuximab.. Outcome of patients will be compared to a cohort of patients receiving standard treatment without siltuximab. The patients will be divided into 2 cohorts. Those contained in Cohort A were treated after the use of continuous positive airways pressure (CPAP) or non-invasive ventilation (NIV). Patients in Cohort B were treated after intubation

COVID-19 Seroprevalence Among Healthcare Workers of a Large COVID-19 Hospital in Rome

COVID-19

Healthcare workers are at the forefront against COVID-19, worldwide. Since Fondazione Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli (FPG) IRCCS was enlisted as a COVID-19 hospital, the healthcare workers deployed to COVID-19 wards were separated from those with limited/no exposure, whereas the administrative staff were designated to work from home. Between June and July 2020, an investigation will conduct to evaluate the seroprevalence of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) immunoglobulin (IgG) antibodies among the employees of the FPG using point-of-care (POC) and venous blood tests. Sensitivity, specificity, and predictive values were determined with reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction on nasal/oropharyngeal swabs as the diagnostic gold standard.
