Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Vaccination
Covid19The vaccination policy is drawn up in France by the French Minister of Health, who makes public the vaccination schedule after the opinion of the High Authority of Health. Currently according to the 2019 immunization schedule, the dTP vaccine is the only mandatory in the general population with recalls in adults aged 25, 45, 65 and every 10 years. In 2011, the Ministry of Health estimated that only 50.5% of the general population was up to date against dTP. Two vaccines are recommended for person at risk of infection according to the current vaccine schedule: the flu vaccine and the pneumococcal vaccine. In fact, influenza and pneumococcal disease are more frequent and more serious in patients with chronic diseases (diabetes, cardiac insufficiency..) compared to the general population. The vaccination coverage rate of at-risk populations is dramatically below the vaccination coverage targets set by the Ministry of Health. Indeed, there are many barriers to vaccination, medical and para-medical barriers, but also individual barriers. The current COVID-19 pandemic has identified people at risk of severe infection and death risk, particularly those with co-morbidities (diabetes, cardiovascular disease, etc.). Thus, this pandemic may have contributed to change in patients' perceptions regarding both the risk of infection and the potential interest and benefit of vaccination.
Circulatory Coherence in COVID-19 and Non-COVID-19 Patients With Sepsis
Viral PneumoniaSepsisThis prospective observational pilot study investigates circulatory coherence in patients with COVID and non-COVID sepsis by comparison of microcirculation, endothelial glycocalyx, and clinical course
Dosing of Thromboprophylaxis and Mortality in Critically Ill COVID-19 Patients
Covid19ThromboembolismThe aim of the study is to associate dose of thromboprophylaxis with outcome in critically ill COVID-19 patients. This will be done by associating dose of thromboprophylaxis with 28-day mortality, survival outside ICU, thromboembolic event and bleeding complications. This was done in our earlier study for patients admitted in March and April (Clinicaltrials.gov NCT04412304 June 2 2020) but now we will include the patients admitted in May, June and half of July and we will ad the outcome of 90-day mortality.
International Registry of Healthcare Workers Exposed to COVID-19 Patients (UNITY Global)
SARS-CoV InfectionCovid19The International Registry of Healthcare Workers Exposed to COVID-19 Patients (UNITY Global), is an international registry of approximately 10,000 healthcare workers in low- and middle-income countries experiencing increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases and commensurate increased exposure to the SARS-CoV-2 virus among their healthcare worker populations.
Tobacco and Nicotine Consumption and the Risk of Acquisition of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)...
COVID-19The purpose of this case-control study is to assess the association of the current and former consumption of tobacco and nicotine in the risk of acquisition of severe acute respiratory syndrome 2 (SARS-CoV-2). the investigators will send a structured interview by mail regarding use of tobacco and nicotine to 2500 healthcare workers (1250 cases with a positive Real Time Polymorphism Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) and 1250 controls with a negative PCR) who were tested in Paris for in March and April, 2020. OR will be estimated by conditional logistic regression modelling with matching for sex and age.
Investigation of Validity and Reliability of Post-COVID-19 Functional Status Scale
Covid19The new type of Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) epidemic puts great pressure on health systems around the world. A large number of people are hospitalized in intensive care units due to acute respiratory distress syndrome due to SARS-CoV-2. Common symptoms seen with SARS-CoV-2 include fever, cough, and dyspnea, as well as pneumonia, severe acute respiratory distress syndrome, renal failure, and even death. Many patients develop mild to moderate disease without pneumonia. The respiratory condition of some patients continues to worsen gradually and develop acute respiratory distress syndrome, which usually requires mechanical ventilation support. Exercise capacity and health status of individuals who survived severe acute respiratory distress syndrome are lower than the general population. Persistent physical, cognitive, and psychosocial disorders can be seen in people who have survived acute respiratory distress syndrome. Given the clinical and radiological heterogeneity of COVID-19, it is important to have a simple tool for the disease to monitor the course of symptoms and the impact of symptoms on patients' functional status. Klok FA et al. developed the Post-COVID-19 Functional Status Scale (PCFS). PCFS can be evaluated for functional sequelae after discharge from the hospital, at 4 and 8 weeks after discharge, to directly monitor recovery, and at 6 months. The aim of this study is to investigate the validity and reliability of PCFS in Turkish population. Research permission to investigate the validity and reliability of PCFS in the Turkish population was obtained from the developer of the PCFS.
Cardiac Biomarkers and Mortality in Critically Ill Patients With SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19)
COVID-19Objective: To assess the prognostic value of high-sensitive cardiac troponin T (hs-cTnT) and N-terminal pro brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) at ICU admission in patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Design: Multicenter retrospective observational cohort study Setting: Three ICUs at three hospitals in Occitanie, France. Patients: Adults (≥ 18 years old) with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 and at least one hs-cTnT measurement at ICU admission, from March 9, 2020, to May 9, 2020.
Perceived Stress Among ICU Medical Staff During COVID-19 Crisis
CoronavirusNurse's Role1 moreThe objective of this study is to compare psychological distress and needs of nurses in ICU before and during coronavirus pandemic.
Understanding Immunity to the COVID-19 Vaccines
COVID-19Immunity1 moreThe purpose of this study is to test over time immunity to the COVID-19 vaccines. Adults who are receiving COVID-19 vaccines will be invited to participate.
Infection Control for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2
Covid19SARS-CoV Infection3 moreThe investigators aim to develop expert consensus statements on infection control management of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in intensive care units (ICU).
