Role of OMT in the Management of the Persistent Post-COVID-19 Symptoms

Post-Acute COVID-19 Syndrome

The goal of this observational study is to determine the feasibility of conducting a large-scale study on the effect of using osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) to treat patients with post-COVID-19 symptoms. The main questions it aims to answer are: Is it feasible to conduct a large-scale study of the effect of OMT on patients with post-COVID-19 symptoms (based on how many patients agree to participate and how many complete the study)? How much change in patients' post-COVID-19 symptom severity, quality of life, and ability to return to work can we expect to see following OMT? Participants will receive OMT as directed by their physician and complete questionnaires after every other OMT session. Participants will complete questionnaires about their post-COVID-19 symptoms, quality of life, ability to return to work, and adverse events they experienced 3 days after every other OMT session. Participants will be sent links to the questionnaires for 4 months or when their symptoms resolve, whichever comes first. Additionally, participants will complete a follow-up questionnaire 2 months after they stop receiving OMT for their post-COVID-19 symptoms or 6 months after enrollment in the study, whichever comes first.

Efficacy of Bailing Capsule on Pulmonary Fibrosis After COVID-19

Pulmonary FibrosisCOVID-19 Pneumonia

Pulmonary fibrosis is a sequela of severe infection COVID-19.The prevalence of PCFP ranged from 2% to 45%,and the pathogenesis of PCFP has not been clearly elucidated. The ingredient of Bailing capsule is Cs-C-Q80,it has obvious protective effect on lung. Studies have shown that Bailing capsule may improve the clinical symptoms of PCPF patients through anti-fibrosis, oxidation and anti-inflammatory effects in multiple pathways. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of bailing capsule in treating PCFP after COVID-19 infection.

Telemonitoraggio Domiciliare Della Saturazione Arteriosa di Ossigeno in Pazienti COVID-19

COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic created an urgent need to implement digital health solutions for remote clinical management of infected patients who could be monitored at home. The Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome provided a digital health program (SATCOV) to monitor at home newly diagnosed COVID-19 patient, or after an early discharge from the COVID units. A digital application and a wireless oximeter were provided to patients. Oxygen saturation, heart rate and body temperature were monitored. The aim is to evaluate the feasibility and safety of the oxygen saturation telemonitoring in COVID-19 patients. Clinicians personalized their remote assistance defining specific alerts for each patient and/or required a timely hospitalization in a dedicated COVID unit if necessary.
