Clinical Evolution and Becoming of Adult Patients Infected With Covid-19 Hospitalized at Strasbourg...

Covid-19

A SARS-CoV-2 infection emerged in China in December 2019, the severity of which is linked to acute respiratory distress syndrome1. The rate of emergency visits in Bas-Rhin for suspected Covid-19 increased, compared to the French average, at the end of the 10th week of 2020. Compared to the onset of symptoms, Chinese studies estimate the onset of dyspnea on the 7th day3 and admission to the emergency room between the 5th and the 9th day4. But this duration varies according to the epidemic period5, the geographical location6 and a later emergency admission is associated with an increase in mortality in the Chinese population7. The need for oxygen, which is not noted in Chinese studies8, is a reflection of the onset of respiratory worsening and a major factor in hospitalization. There is no study on the changing profile of the French population to date its onset.

The Effect of Diabetes Mellitus on Mortality of Patients With COVID-19

Covid19Diabetes Mellitus

The study includes patients over 18 years old who were hospitalized in our covid intensive care unit between March 16 and May 16, 2020. Retrospective records were examined by examining the electronic data files of the patients. Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests performed with nasopharyngeal swab taken from the person, which is the standard diagnostic method, and also the diagnosis of infection symptoms, risk factors and thoracic CT scans indicating pneumonia were diagnosed. Patients over 18 years of age with and without a medical history of DM in their history were identified and compared in 2 groups.

Spread Analysis of COVID-19 Outbreak in France by Self-assessment Web-application

Covid19

A coronavirus pandemic began on 12/31/2019 with a first Chinese patient. As of 04/04/2020, the epidemic affects more than 190 countries with more than 50 million official contaminations and 1,251,000 deaths. (Univ J Hopkins). This virus causes a pathology ranging from simple flu-like symptoms in 80% of cases to acute respiratory distress syndromes requiring intensive care in 5% of cases and a death rate of 1.4 to 4% of cases. Viral contamination is airborne and fecal A first epidemic wave crossed France in March / April 2020 then a second in October / November with a source of contamination which began in mid-August 2020. The sources of propagation are not well known (what places, what times, what contacts…? ) In the context of the health crisis linked to the coronavirus, knowledge of the sources of propagation of this 2nd wave is an important issue to guide end of lockdown and second lockdown policies.

Hospital Interns Psychological State During the COVID-19

COVID 19Depression2 more

The mental health of the French population in response to covid-19 pandemic is of concern. Health professionals are prone to more mental disorders due to their direct exposure to the pandemic consequences. Indeed, compared to general population, health care workers face enormous in the current health situation, especially those who may be in contact with suspected or confirmed cases (risk of infection, inadequate protection, loss of control, lack of experience in managing the diseases, overwork, stigma, lack of support). Thus, it seems interesting to describe the psychological state of hospital interns during this pandemic.

Longitudinal Follow-up of a Population Cohort in a French City With High SARS-CoV-2 Circulation,...

SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome)Covid19

An initial retrospective epidemiological investigation was conducted in a city north of France after the diagnosis of the first case of COVID-19 on February 2020. Sero-epidemiological studies were conducted in this town by the Institut Pasteur in early 2020 among families, teachers and non-teaching staff of the high and elementary schools. The goal of this new project is to better characterize the specific immunity generated by the infection within this community. The specific immune response to the SARS-CoV-2 virus will be followed for a period of 2 years from the initial circulation of the virus, within a large cohort of participants covering all age groups from 5 years-old onwards. The study will focus on systemic humoral and cell responses, immunity of the nasopharyngeal mucosa and the humoral response present in saliva. Follow-up of participants in this cohort and monitoring of the virus circulation within this community would help to determine the protective character against re-infection of the natural immunity generated by SARS-CoV-2.

Obstetric Anesthesia Experiences in COVID-19 Positive Patients

Covid19Obstetric Anesthesia

At the end of 2019, a new coronavirus named COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2), one of the lower respiratory tract samples was detected in China. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared it a global epidemic on March 11, 2020, due to the emergence of COVID-19 cases in 113 countries other than China, where the first epidemic occurred, and the spread and severity of the virus. Pregnancy increases susceptibility to respiratory complications of viral diseases. This study aimed to retrospectively evaluate the demographic data of COVID-19 patients undergoing cesarean section, our anesthesia practices, complications, and condition of neonates, and to summarize up-to-date information on COVID-19 in obstetric anesthesia.
