Ventilation Associated Pneumonia and Covid-19

SARS-CoV2 InfectionVentilator Associated Pneumonia2 more

In December 2019, a new pandemic emerged, the COVID-19 disease caused by a SARS-Cov-2 virus. One of the most common symptoms of COVID-19 is mainly respiratory failure and patients requires assistance by mechanical ventilation. Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is a risk of this assistance. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Standard of care have evolved with new data. The prevalence of these VAPs seems significantly higher in the population of patients with ARDS COVID-19 (40-50%) and their ecology seems to have evolved over time, particularly in terms of bacterial resistance. Investigators want to describe and compare this evolution of bacterial and fungal ecology as well as identify potential risk factors that may be associated with these changes in ecology during different waves.

Spike-specific Cellular Immune Response After COVID-19 Vaccination

COVID19Vaccination1 more

Aim of this study is to evaluate whether COVID-19 vaccination induces a persistent cellular immune response. To this aim, blood samples are taken from vaccinated individuals and not immunized subjects as a control group. Cells isolated from blood samples are tested in vitro to assess the percentage of spike-specific T and B lymphocytes 1 and 7 months after a second dose of Comirnaty vaccine.

Chronic Multimorbidity Patterns in Relation to COVID-19 Severe Infection

Covid-19Chronic Disease

The aim of the study was to analyze the patterns of chronic multimorbidity of a cohort of Covid-19 patients, and to assess the relation between the patterns and the development of severe infection or mortality.

Lung Ultrasound Signs and Patterns in COVID-19 Pregnant Women

Pregnancy ComplicationsCovid19

SARS-CoV-2 impact on pregnant women is not well known yet. Some authors demonstrated that lung ultrasound can give similar results if compared to chest computed tomography and better results if compared to chest x-rays without radiations and limited risks for mother and fetus. The Lung Ultrasound Score (LUS) can be used to asses the entity and monitor the evolution of lung impairment. Some authors described an artifact, the "light beam", as a typical ultrasound sign in COVID-19 positive patients. With our study we hypothesize to understand the prevalence of this sign and other ultrasound signs in pregnant COVID-19 positive patients.

Impact of COVID-19 on the Clinical Outcomes and Management of IgG4 Related Disease Patients

IgG4 Related DiseaseCovid19

Since December 2019, coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by the severe respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has affected more than 124 million people worldwide as of 23/3/2021. While studies on the outcomes of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) (an important gastroenterological disease requiring immunosuppressive therapies for treatment) patients with COVID-19 have been published recently, little is known about the impact of COVID-19 on the clinical outcomes and management of IgG4 related disease patients with pancreatobiliary involvement. Because the number of IgG4 patients with pancreatobiliary involvement cared by individual centers and the prevalence of COVID-19 infection in different geographical regions vary, we propose to conduct a multicenter retrospective study to further evaluate the impact of COVID-19 on the clinical outcomes and management of IgG4 related disease patients with pancreatobiliary involvement.

Important Data on COVID-19 Profile in Africa

Coronavirus InfectionAfrica

The purpose of this study is to Understand the natural history of Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) infection to better define the period of infectiousness and transmissibility and to establish biobanks of COVID-19 blood and mucosal samples.

COVID-19 and Acute Invasive Fungal Rhinosinusitis

Covid19

Data for acute invasive rhinosinusitis was obtained from the Otorhinolaryngology departments at our tertiary hospital at the period from January 2017 to December 2020. Then the risk factors of comorbid diseases and fungal types between post-Covid-19 and non-Covid-19 groups regarding the incidence of invasive rhinosinusitis are compared.

An Observational Clinical Study to Evaluate COVID-19 Symptoms in "Long Hauler" Patients Who Participated...

COVID-19

This observational clinical study aims to evaluate the presence of symptoms of COVID-19 infection in patients who participated in K031-120 or K032-120 ("long hauler").

International Study of Inflammation in COVID-19

Covid19Outcome4 more

This is a prospective multi-center observational study which purpose is to evaluate the ability of blood-based inflammatory markers to risk-stratify patients hospitalized for Covid-19. Blood-based biomarkers examined include: soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (suPAR), C-reactive protein (CRP), procalcitonin, D-dimer, ferritin, lactate dehydrogenase and interleukin-6.

Evaluation of the INDICAID™ COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test

Covid19

The INDICAID™ Rapid Antigen Test was used in real-world outbreak testing. The antigen test was used together with PCR testing. This study was designed to evaluate whether the addition of a rapid antigen test decreased time to results in a real-world setting.
