Intra-Abdominal Hypertension in Neonatal Intensive Care Patients
Intra-Abdominal HypertensionThe observational study is designed to determine the feasibility of performing Intra-Abdominal Pressure (IAP) via bladder pressure measurements and of tracking IAP in neonates who require bladder catheterization. Correlation of IAP measurements with clinical status of the neonatal abdomen will help determine threshold values for Intra-Abdominal Hypertension (IAH) in the neonate.
Intraabdominal Hypertension After Kidney Transplantation
Intraabdominal HypertensionKidney TransplantationIntraabdominal hypertension (IAH) is a frequent and severe condition affecting intensive care patients. Gold standard for estimation of intraabdominal pressure is intravesical pressure (IVP) measurement. IVP measurement is recommended in patients presenting IAH risk factor(s). Acute kidney injury is the most frequent and described complication of IAH condition. Patients undergoing kidney transplantation have several risk factors to develop IAH. Nevertheless, to our knowledge, IAH incidence, associated factors and impact on renal function recovery remains unknown. We aim to study IAH incidence, associated factors and impact on renal function recovery in post kidney transplantation period.

Organ Dysfunction Associated With Intra Abdominal Pressures in Liver Transplantation
Liver DiseasesIntra-Abdominal Hypertension3 morePatients with end stage liver disease have varying degrees of intra-abdominal hypertension (IAH) due to the presence of ascites. The perioperative events may either relieve or aggravate the intra-abdominal pressures. Intra-abdominal hypertension has damaging effect on various organ systems. There is an increase in intracranial pressures and a decrease in cerebral perfusion pressures associated with IAH . In the heart, there is an increase of right atrial pressures, increase in systemic vascular resistance and decrease in cardiac output . Pulmonary complications include increase in the peak, mean and plateau airway pressures, with decreased compliance . Renal dysfunction is an early effect of raised intra-abdominal pressure, resulting from decreased renal blood flow, shunting of blood to the medulla, mechanical compression of the kidneys and increased pressures in the renal veins . We would study the intra-abdominal pressures in liver transplant recipients and record hemodynamic, respiratory, cardiac and renal function prospectively. Follow up data for 6 days for neurological, respiratory, cardiac and renal complications will be collected, along with hospital stay, ICU stay and mortality. The association between intra-abdominal pressures and these outcomes will be analysed.
Effect of the Intra-abdominal Pressure on the Risk of Delirium in Mechanically Ventilated Patients....
DeliriumIntraabdominal Hypertension1 moreintra-abdominal hypertension (IAH) and delirium are serious, high-frequency complications in intensive care unit (ICU) patients. The consequences of the complication range from high morbidity and mortality to a greater need for nursing care. We hypothesize that there could be a correlation between IAH and incidence of delirium.
Abdominal Compartment Syndrome : Diagnostic and Prognostic Value of CT Findings - a Prospective...
Intra-Abdominal HypertensionAbdominal Compartment SyndromeAbdominal Compartment Syndrome (ACS) is a well known condition occuring in critically ill patients in intensive care units. This syndrome features a sustained intra abdominal hypertension (IAH) above 20 mmHg and a multiple organ failure due to the raise of the intra abdominal pressure. Several reviews described CT findings linked to these conditions, but most of them suffer an insufficient statistical method. Furthermore, the main CT feature described as specific in ACS, Round Belly Sign (RBS), has been highly debated since. This study is aimed to evaluate, in a prospective way, the diagnostic and prognostic value of CT findings in abdominal hypertension and abdominal compartment syndrome patients hosted in intensive care units, based on previous reviews and adding three new CT features described for the first time.
The Effect of Different Types of Temporary Abdominal Closure on Intra Abdominal Hypertension.
Intra Abdominal HypertensionAbdominal Compartment SyndromeThis is a prospective comparison trial. Patients that will be included in the trial are those that will have operations in which their abdominal closure is temporary, i.e. patients sustaining trauma or septic abdomen. Patients will be grouped according to the method of temporarily abdominal closure (TAC) procedure: Vacuum-assisted closure (VAC) "Bogota bag" (BB), a sterile intravenous bag silo closure. The two methods are currently accepted with no clear cut evidence to prefer one on another. At Soroka Medical Center the decision to choose either of the methods is at the surgeon's discretion. Intra-abdominal pressure will be measured in all patients by the urinary bladder pressure technique at 6 12 24 ant 48 hours post operation. The measurement is a routine procedure done as part of the monitoring processes of critically ill patients in the General Intensive Care Unit (GICU). Patients will be evaluated for the development of acute intra abdominal hypertension with or without abdominal compartment syndrome.

Abdominal Compartment Syndrome and Ruptured Aortic Aneurysm : Validation of a Predictive Test
Abdominal Compartment SyndromeIt is an observational study on ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm and abdominal compartment syndrome. the aim of this study is to assess the qualities of a predictive score on the occurence of this syndrome after surgery of ruptured aortic aneurysm
