the Association Between Blood's and Urinary Heavy Metal Level in Pregnant Women and the Spontaneous...

Heavy Metal ToxicitySpontaneous Abortion

The aim of the study was to define the possible association between heavy iron level and the consequence of pregnancy especially spontaneous abortion and missed abortion. The study population will comprised the first-trimester pregnant women in the PUMCH (Peking Union Medicine College Hospital) during 2017 October to 2018 November. We categorised the patients into two groups, the study group where the patients suffered from spontaneous abortion or missed abortion, and the control group where the patients carry the normal live fetal for at least 8 weeks and ask for artificial abortion. All the cases included in the study were examined with respect to 6 kinds of heavy iron level in venous blood and urine, then correlation analysis was applied to define heavy iron level between two groups.

Erectile Dysfunction, Psychological Disorders, and Sexual Performance Among Men Seeking Medical...

Erectile DysfunctionSexual Dysfunction4 more

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Association for Sexual Health (WAS), sexual health is directly related to everyone's mental health and quality of life. Sexuality is innate to humans and is closely linked to their reproduction. Thus, a correlation between unmet fertility desires and sexual disorders can be observed in infertile couples. In fact, sexual intercourse itself will not be as natural in most cases and will preferentially occur during the "reproductive window". Thus, sexuality will be deprived of recreational and erotic activities, and sexuality will be used only for reproduction. For many men, sexual intercourse will become coercive, repetitive and mechanical, offering little emotion. The interactions between infertility and wife recurrent miscarriage in sexuality are numerous and complex. Many men will perceive their infertility as a loss of masculinity and virility and may feel low self-esteem and depression, in addition, Decreased sperm quality may lead to anxiety in men, which may eventually lead to temporary Sexual Dysfunction (SD).Therefore, the need to identify SD and its severity is crucial for infertile men before receiving individualized male treatment.

Ism1 Versus EmbryoGen Media for Embryo Culture in Previous Pregnancy Loss Cases

InfertilityMiscarriage

Recently, it has been suggested that culture of embryos in EmbryoGen medium can increase the live birth rate in IVF patients with a previous history of pregnancy loss. Couples requiring IVF treatment and with a past experience of miscarriage and/or biochemical pregnancy will be included in the study. Controlled ovarian stimulation protocol will consist of an agonist down regulation and follicular stimulation by recombinant FSH. Fertilization will be achieved by standard IVF or intracytoplasmic sperm injection. Fertilized eggs will be cultured in 6% CO2, 5% O2, 89% N2 atmosphere in microdrops. In the treatment group EmbryoGen culture medium (EG, Origio, Måløv, Denmark) will be adopted throughout the culture period. In the control group, inseminated oocytes will be cultured in standard culture conditions, i.e. IMS1 medium (ISM1, Origio, Måløv, Denmark), maintaining unchanged all other culture conditions. Procedures of embryo transfer, will be carried out on day 2 using EmbryoGen or ISM1 respectively. The endometrial support will be the same in the two groups. The investigators will consider ongoing clinical pregnancy as the primary outcome assuming a 25% of increment in ongoing clinical pregnancy rate in the group with EmbryoGen medium. As secondary outcome the investigators will assume a 5% of increment in ongoing implantation rate after 12 weeks in the group with EmbryoGen medium.
