Gala Treatment for Chronic Bronchitis in Canada
Chronic BronchitisCOPDFeasibility trial (FIH) to assess the safety and clinical utility in patients with chronic bronchitis in Canada.
Physical Activity to Improve Patient Reported Outcomes for Adults With Acute Leukemia
Physical ActivityExercise3 moreThe purpose of this study is to test the efficacy of an evidence-based tailored physical activity program adapted for adults with acute leukemia. Implementation-related process evaluation of the physical activity program will also be assessed.
BD MiniDraw™ Capillary System Clinical Equivalence Study
HealthyDisease3 moreThis study designed to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of a newly developed sample collection device. Participants will be enrolled and samples will be collected by representative future users of the device. Comparator venous and conventional capillary tubes will be collected by skilled healthcare professionals with phlebotomy experience. Samples will be tested and average differences between the investigational device compared to a marketed comparator will be evaluated. Visual observations will be captured and device safety will be assessed.
Levofloxacin in Preventing Infection in Young Patients With Acute Leukemia Receiving Chemotherapy...
Acute Leukemias of Ambiguous LineageBacterial Infection8 moreThis randomized phase III trial studies how well levofloxacin works in preventing infection in young patients with acute leukemia receiving chemotherapy or undergoing stem cell transplant. Giving antibiotics may be effective in preventing or controlling early infection in patients receiving chemotherapy or undergoing stem cell transplant for acute leukemia. It is not yet known whether levofloxacin is effective in preventing infection.
Demonstration of Near Zero Antibiotic Prescribing for Acute Bronchitis
BronchitisCoughStudies show, guidelines state, and performance measures assert that antibiotic prescribing for uncomplicated acute bronchitis is inappropriate. However, clinicians prescribe antimicrobials in over 60% of the 22.5 million acute bronchitis visits in the United States each year. Previous successful interventions have only reduced the antimicrobial prescribing rate to 40% or 50%. It is unknown if the antimicrobial prescribing rate for acute bronchitis can be brought to near zero percent in actual practice while maintaining patient safety and satisfaction. The goal of this study is to develop an Electronic Health Record (EHR)-integrated algorithm for the diagnosis and treatment of adults with acute bronchitis with a goal of reducing the antibiotic prescribing rate to near zero percent.

HMA+DLI vs DLI Preemptive Therapy Based on MRD for AL Undergoing Allo-HSCT
Minimal Residual Disease,Acute LeukemiaHypomethylating Agents2 moreAllogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (Allo-HSCT) is an effective therapy for acute leukemia, but relapse is the most common problem affecting long-term survivors of allo-HSCT. Therapy options for relapse include stopping immune suppression, re-induction of chemotherapy, donor lymphocyte infusion (DLI) or combination therapy. In this prospective randomized controlled study, the safety and efficacy of hypomethylating agents (HMA) + DLI and DLI preemptive therapy based on minimal residual disease in acute leukemia undergoing allo-HSCT are evaluated.
HLA-haploidentical Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation for Children and Adolescents With Acute...
Acute LeukemiaMyelodysplastic Syndrome1 moreRATIONALE: Conditioning with total body irradiation (TBI) and fludarabine, cyclophosphamide and anti-thymocyte globulin may induce the engraftment cross the immunologic barrier in the setting of HLA-haploidentical allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation. In addition, T-cell depletion may contribute to prevent developing severe acute graft versus host disease (GVHD) in haploidentical transplantation. PURPOSE: This phase I/II trial is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of TBI, fludarabine, cyclophosphamide and antithymocyte globulin with T-cell depleted graft from haploidentical donors in treating patients with acute leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome.
A Study of PTX-200 (Triciribine) Plus Cytarabine in Refractory or Relapsed Acute Leukemia
Acute LeukemiaA phase I-II open label study of PTX-200 in combination with cytarabine in the treatment of relapsed or refractory acute leukemia.
