Azacitidine + Lenalidomide Combo in the Elderly With Previously Treated AML & High-Risk MDS

LeukemiaAcute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)1 more

The purpose of the trial is to study how the elderly patients who have previously undergone treatment for acute myeloid leukemia and high-rRisk myelodysplastic syndromes, respond to a combined treatment with azacitidine and lenalidomide.

Myelodysplastic SyndromesAcute Myelogenous Leukemia

The hypothesis of this study is that 5-aza and lenalidomide act synergistically in MDS and AML patients with chromosomal abnormalities involving monosomy 5 or del5q. Therefore, this phase I study will investigate the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of lenalidomide in combination with a fixed dose of 5-aza in this patient population.

Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML)

To determine the maximum tolerated dose of KW-2449 in people with acute myelogenous leukemia who are not candidates for approved therapy. As well, the study will determine the response rate to KW-2449.

Myelodysplastic SyndromesAcute Myelogenous Leukemia

The hypothesis of this study is that lenalidomide can be an effective drug in preventing relapse of MDS and AML patients with chromosomal abnormalities involving monosomy 5 or del5q after allogeneic HSCT. Due to its immunomodulatory action it might also be able to enhance a T - or NK cell mediated graft versus leukemia (GVL) effects. Nevertheless, one has to keep in mind a possible, yet unknown influence on modulation of clinical GVHD.

Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS)

The purpose of the study is to determine how effective azacitidine, MGCD0103, and the combination of azacitidine and MGCD0103 are in treating AML or MDS in people over 60 years of age.

Myeloid Leukemia

The primary objective is to determine the maximum tolerated dose of AVE9633 and to characterize the dose limiting toxicity(ies). Secondary objectives are to determine the anti-leukemia activity, the global safety and the PK profile.

Myelodysplastic SyndromesAcute Myeloid Leukemia1 more

The goal of this clinical research study is to find the highest tolerable dose of oxaliplatin combined with fludarabine plus cytarabine that can be given to patients with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) or High-Risk Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS). Once the highest tolerable dose of oxaliplatin in this drug combination is found, the next goal of the study will be to learn the safety and the ability of the drug combination to control the disease.

Clofarabine, Cytarabine, and Thymoglobulin for Allogeneic Transplantation

Myelodysplastic SyndromesAcute Myeloid Leukemia

This study will test the combination of clofarabine, cytarabine, and thymoglobulin as a non-myeloablative conditioning regimen for patients with myelodysplastic syndromes or acute myeloid leukemia undergoing allogeneic stem cell transplant.

In-Vivo Activated T-Cell Depletion to Prevent GVHD

Acute Myelogenous LeukemiaAcute Lymphocytic Leukemia9 more

The purpose of this study is to compare the effects (good and bad) of the medication basiliximab in combination with cyclosporine with cyclosporine alone for the prevention of graft-versus-host disease. This research is being done because there is no completely safe and effective prevention for graft-versus-host disease. It is known that cyclosporine helps with GVHD but we would like to know if the addition of basiliximab will decrease the incidence and/or severity of GVHD after a transplant known as nonmyeloablative ("mini" transplant).

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as clofarabine and cytarabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving clofarabine together with cytarabine may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: This pilot phase II trial is studying how well giving clofarabine together with cytarabine works in treating patients with acute myeloid leukemia with minimal residual disease
