Treatment Decision Analysis Model for Prostate Cancer: A Randomized Trial

Adenocarcinoma of ProstateAdenocarcinoma of the Prostate Stage I2 more

This is a psychosocial/behavioral study and does not involve administration of any treatment or diagnostic procedures. We will use a randomized trial to test the hypothesis that a decision analysis model that provides individualized estimates of quality-adjusted disease-free survival for each of the treatment options for clinically localized prostate cancer will lead to higher quality treatment decisions congruent with a patient's values leading to improved decisional regret and treatment satisfaction. In this trial, all patients would be evaluated at baseline for their utilities for various clinically important health states. The control arm will receive counseling regarding treatment options using standard patient-physician interactions and nomogram-predicted probabilities of treatment outcome for the various treatment options and they will be unaware of the decision analysis recommendation. The treatment arm would be counseled using standard patient-physician interactions and they would also be provided with a personalized treatment recommendations based on the decision analysis model prior to treatment selection. The primary endpoint of this study will be regret-free survival at 2 years after treatment. There will be a 1:1 randomization. A random permuted design will be used to assure approximate balanced number of patients in the two groups over time.

Supportive Therapy in Androgen Deprivation Clinic in Improving Health Outcomes and Managing Side...

Prostate Adenocarcinoma

This pilot partially-randomized phase II trial studies how well Supportive Therapy in Androgen Deprivation (STAND) clinic works in improving health outcomes and managing side effects in patients with prostate cancer. Individualized counseling regarding exercise and dietary habits may help improve patient understanding, satisfaction, and overall lessen adverse impact on quality of life caused by androgen deprivation.

Low-Dose Acetylsalicylic Acid in Treating Patients With Stage I-III Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

Adenocarcinoma of the LungRecurrent Non-small Cell Lung Cancer6 more

This pilot clinical trial studies low-dose acetylsalicylic acid in treating patients with stage I-III non-small cell lung cancer. Studying samples of urine and blood from patients with cancer in the laboratory may help doctors learn more about changes in biomarkers that occur during treatment with acetylsalicylic acid

Ovarian CancerFallopian Tube Adenocarcinoma20 more

Many individuals with ovarian cancer experience distress, fatigue, weakness, anxiety, and other symptoms that decrease quality of life. Moderate exercise may improve quality of life, decrease distress, and improve biomarkers associated with prognosis in individuals with ovarian cancer. This clinical trial studies how well moderate exercise works in improving distress, quality of life, and biomarkers of angiogenesis and chronic stress in individuals with ovarian, fallopian tube, and primary peritoneal cancer.

Cetuximab and/or Dasatinib in Patients With Colorectal Cancer and Liver Metastases That Can Be Removed...

Liver MetastasesMucinous Adenocarcinoma of the Colon7 more

This phase 0 trial is studying whether 2 weeks of cetuximab and dasatinib will change tumor cells in patients with colorectal cancer and liver metastases that can be removed by surgery. Monoclonal antibodies, such as cetuximab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Dasatinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.

Metastatic Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma

This protocol will enroll patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer to receive modified FOLFIRINOX plus devimistat. Patients will be enrolled with 1:1 randomization between Dose Escalation Cohort and Cohort A until required 20 patients have been enrolled on Cohort A following which randomization will end and patients will be enrolled without randomization to Dose Escalation Cohort and then subsequently to Cohort B.

Bicalutamide and Raloxifene Hydrochloride in Treating Patients With Prostate Cancer Undergoing Surgery...

Stage I Prostate AdenocarcinomaStage II Prostate Adenocarcinoma

This phase II pilot trial studies how well bicalutamide and raloxifene hydrochloride work in treating patients with prostate cancer undergoing surgery. Antihormone therapy, such as bicalutamide and raloxifene hydrochloride, may lessen the amount of androgens made by the body.

Study of FOLFIRINOX Electrochemotherapy in the Treatment of Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma

Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma

The purpose of this study is to see how well electrochemotherapy works at treating people with Stage III pancreatic adenocarcinoma. Electrochemotherapy is a treatment that combines electroporation and chemotherapy administration. Electroporation uses an electric current to produce holes in pancreatic tumor, which causes the tumor cells to die or take up a higher concentration of administered chemotherapy agent. This study will test the safety and look at the effect of electrochemotherapy in the treatment of stage III pancreatic adenocarcinoma. This study will also help to find the safest and most effective amount of electroporation voltage to apply to this type of tumor.
