Improvement of Range of Motion in Frozen Shoulder in Breast Cancer Survivors
Breast NeoplasmShoulder Capsulitis1 moreThe prevalence of shoulder joint disease is high in breast cancer patients. The cause of adhesive capsulitis is not clearly identified. However, the following are known as relevant factors that are the restriction of the use of the arm after surgery, inflammation due to autoimmune action, radiation therapy, and adhesion of the surgical site. The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the effect of intrathecal steroid injection in breast cancer survivors with adhesive capsulitis.
Modified Cross Body Stretch Verses Modified Sleeper Stretch in Basketball Players for Posterior...
Shoulder CapsulitisThe aim of this research is to compare the effect of modified cross body stretch and modified sleeper stretch on pain, range of motion, disability and throwing ability in athletes with posterior capsule tightness. Randomized controlled trials done at International Islamic University. The sample size was 32. The subjects were divided in two groups, 16 subjects in modified cross body stretch group and 16 in modified sleeper stretch group. Study duration was of 6 months. Sampling technique applied was non probability connivance sampling technique. Tools used in the study are PENN shoulder score, gonoiometer, thumb up back(TUB) and seated basketball throw test(SBBT). Data was be analyzed through SPSS 21.
Suprascapular Nerve Block in Addition to Intra-articular Corticosteroid Injection in Adhesive Capsulitis...
Adhesive Capsulitis of the ShoulderAdhesive capsulitis is a disease that negatively affects a person's quality of life by causing severe pain and limitation in the movements of the shoulder joint in all directions. Conservative approaches including nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or oral corticosteroid usage and physiotherapy program are the first choice for the treatment. However, painful exercises usually prevent patients from fully participating in the physiotherapy program. For this reason, interventional procedures such as intra-articular corticosteroid injection (IAI) and suprascapular nerve block (SSNB) are preferred to be applied before the physiotherapy program. The aim of this study is to reveal both short and long-term effects of SSNB and IAI combination on pain, shoulder range of motion (ROM), disability, and quality of life in patients with adhesive capsulitis. It is hypothesized that the addition of SSNB to IAI results in greater improvements in pain, passive and active shoulder ROMs, disability, and quality of life.

Mobilization With Movement Techniques of Shoulder Girdle in Patients With Chronic Adhesive Capsulitis...
Adhesive Capsulitis of ShoulderStudy will be a Randomized clinical trial to check Effects of mobilization with movement techniques of shoulder girdle on pain, range of motion and function in patients with chronic adhesive capsulitis so that we can devise a treatment protocol Total Thirty subjects will be included in this study .Out of total 15 will be randomly allocated via lottery method in group 1 and 15 will be allocated in group 2. Group 1 will receive hot packs for 15 minutes for warming up, shoulder girdle mobilization with movement techniques along with other shoulder girdle joints mobilizations (sternoclavicular, acromioclavicular, cervicothoracic and scapulothoracic joints) and conventional physical therapy treatment while group 2 will receive only hot pack for 15 minutes and conventional physical therapy management. All patients will be treated for 12 sessions, two sessions per week for 6 weeks. Shoulder pain and disability index consist of two parts, part one which assesses pain severity and part two which assesses functional disability. Study setting will be suraiya majeed trust hospital. Assessment will be done at 0 weeks, 3 weeks, and 6 weeks. Data was analysed by using SPSS version 26.

The Anti-Freaze-F Study- "Anti-TNF for Treatment of Frozen Shoulder - a Feasibility Study"
Frozen ShoulderFrozen shoulder is a common condition affecting approximately 9% of people aged 25-64 years. During the early phase the pain is usually unbearable and the later restriction in movement is severely limiting. It occurs when the flexible tissue (capsule) that surrounds the shoulder joint becomes inflamed, thickened and tight. The pain can be very severe and lasts 3-9 months, followed by a 4-12 month period of increasing stiffness, after which the condition usually improves. Frozen shoulder often affects a person's ability to sleep, carry out everyday activities, and work. Current treatments include rest, painkillers, anti-inflammatories, physiotherapy and steroid injections. If stiffness persists, surgery is sometimes recommended. However, there is no evidence that any of these treatments lead to significant benefit in the long term, with many being ineffective. The aim of this study is to find out if it is possible to run a larger trial to test whether an injection of adalimumab can reduce pain and prevent the disease from getting worse, if given during the early painful phase of frozen shoulder. The investigators need to conduct this smaller study first to be sure it's possible to identify and treat people with early stage frozen shoulder, before they conduct a much larger trial to find out if this treatment works. In this study the investigators will include 84 adults from 5 sites with painful early stage frozen shoulder who have not yet received treatment. People will be randomised to receive either an injection of the drug adalimumab or a dummy injection of saline (placebo) directly into the shoulder joint, both guided by ultrasound. All participants will also receive standardized advice on how to manage their shoulder pain. The investigators will assess participants before treatment and three months later. Adalimumab has been used very successfully to treat other inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. This study has been funded by the NIHR RfPB programme and 180 Life Sciences.
