Surgical Treatment of Adrenal Diseases- Laparoscopic vs. Robotic-assisted Adrenalectomy
Adrenal TumorAdrenal Disease11 moreThe goal of this multicenter, observational, analytic, randomized clinical trial is to analyze the laparoscopic and robot-assisted method in the surgical treatment of patients with adrenal diseases. The main question it aims to answer are: to find the superiority of one the the surgical method mentioned above to compare the quality of life in patients with adrenal mass before surgery and after laparoscopic or robotic-assisted adrenalectomy.
Adrenal Responsiveness During the Perioperative Period in Children Undergoing Congenital Cardiac...
Adrenal Cortex DiseasesInfant MorbidityOur objective was to determine whether a standard 1mg/kg intraoperative dose of dexamethasone results in similar drug levels for all patients and to characterize the relationship between these drug levels and the innate stress response following infant Cardiopulmonary Bypass (CPB). The investigators hypothesized that postoperative dexamethasone levels are highly variable, and that the infant stress response is inversely related to the amount of dexamethasone measured in the blood. To test this theory the investigators simultaneously measured blood levels of dexamethasone and cortisol at critical time points during the perioperative period for infants undergoing CPB for CHD surgery.
The Effects of Case Management in a Medicaid Managed Care Plan
NeoplasmsHeart Diseases1 moreThe purpose of this study is to evaluate whether or not case management by a social worker and nurse can decrease the number of emergency room visits, increase the number of primary care doctor visits, and increase quality of life of people in a Medicaid managed care plan.
Expression of Different Proliferation Biomarkers in Adreno-cortical Tumors
Adrenal Cortex NeoplasmsAdrenal Cortex DiseasesIn adrenal tumors, the investigators will examine if there is any correlation between WIESS criteria, prognosis of the tumor, and the different labeling index of the following proliferation biomarkers: MCM3, MCM2, KI-67, P53, NEUROPILIN -1, METALLOTHIONEIN, SEMAPHORIN-3A.
