Decontaminant Agent in the Treatment of Chronic Periodontitis

Chronic Periodontitis

In light of the controversy that are already approved but that however still exists regarding the efficacy and influence of the decontaminant tools for the management of Chronic Periodontitis (cp), the aim of this study was to evaluates, at 1 year follow-up, the post-treatment clinical parameters and immunological and gingival microbial profiles in patients with CP, treated by either SRP in addition to desiccant or SRP alone. The null hypothesis to invalidate was that, after a one year follow-up, there were no variations, in relation to clinical, anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory parameters between SRP + desiccant and SRP alone treatment.

Plaque Formation Rate and Toothpaste

Chronic Periodontitis

This 12-week prospective, randomized, double-blind, two-center trial evaluated the impact of a microcrystalline zinc-hydroxyapatite (mHA) dentifrice on plaque formation rate (PFR) in periodontitis patients. The investigators hypothesized that mHA precipitates cause delayed plaque development when compared to a fluoridated control (AmF/SnF2), and therefore would improve periodontal health.

Efficacy and Safety of a Commercially Available Injectable Hyaluronic Acid Dental Filler for Periodontal...

Chronic Periodontitis

This is a controlled, randomized, single-blinded, multicenter, prospective clinical study. In addition to the standard periodontal treatment procedure on all teeth that need to be treated, the 4 teeth with the deepest pockets (between 4 and 6 mm) will be randomized to either PERIOSYAL® FILL and oral hygiene or oral hygiene alone. The pocket depth will be measured at six sites around each tooth, and only the deepest pocket sites of each tooth will be taken into account.

Clinical, Microbiological and Biochemical Effects of the Antimicrobial Photodynamic Therapy

Chronic Periodontitis

The goal of this study is to determine if patients with chronic periodontitis when undergoing with scaling and root planing (SRP) plus photodynamic therapy in comparison with SRP alone result in improved clinical, microbiological and biochemical outcomes.

Clinical Trial of PeriZone PerioPatch in Subjects With Chronic Periodontitis

Chronic Periodontitis

The purpose of this study is to determine if a topical, adhesive patch (PeriZone PerioPatch) applied to the gums after a deep tooth cleaning (scaling and root planing) reduces the signs of advanced gum disease (chronic periodontitis) more than the deep tooth cleaning alone. Eighty patients with advanced gum disease will be recruited and treated within this clinical trial. Patients will be evaluated for changes in gum measurements over a 12-week period.
