TAC-PF, Avastin® in Combination With Photodynamic Therapy to Treat Age Related Macular Degeneration...

Age-Related Macular Degeneration

VERTACL will investigate whether a triple therapy, Avastin®, half fluence verteporfin photodynamic therapy (PDT), and triamcinolone acetonide-preservative free (TAC- PF), results in improved 12-month vision outcome compared to Avastin® alone in participants with neovascular AMD.

Macugen (Pegaptanib Sodium) Alone, Versus Macugen in Combination With PDT (Photodynamic Therapy)...

Age-Related Macular Degeneration

The purpose of the trial is to compare whether Macugen (pegaptanib sodium) in combination with PDT with Visudyne (verteporfin) is safe and effective in slowing down the leakage of fluid within the eye and thereby stabilizing or improving vision when compared to Macugen alone. Patients must be recently diagnosed with predominantly classic wet AMD and must be eligible for PDT.

Macular Degeneration

Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is a degenerative eye disease of the retina that causes a progressive loss of central vision. AMD is the leading cause of legal blindness among adults age 50 or older in the Western world. AMD presents in two different types - "dry" and the more severe "wet" form. Wet AMD is caused by the growth of abnormal blood vessels in the macula. Squalamine lactate is an investigational drug that may prevent the growth of these abnormal blood vessels. This study will test the safety and efficacy of Squalamine in the treatment of AMD.

Age-Related Macular Degeneration

AG-013,958 is being studied to treat patients with Age-Related Macular Degeneration. A total of 144 subjects may be enrolled in the trial. Subjects will be male or female at least 55 years of age with "wet" age-related macular degeneration.

Age-related Macular Degeneration

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of blindness among adults in North America. The current standard of care for patients with exudative ("wet") AMD is anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) therapy which must be administered by an injection into the eye every 4-8 weeks. MT-0814 is being developed for the treatment of patients with exudative AMD, and could offer an alternative, safer and less burdensome therapy.

Age-Related Macular DegenerationNeovascular Age-related Macular Degeneration

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Aflibercept (produced by CinnaGen Co, Iran) compared with Eylea® (Regeneron, USA) in subjects with Neovascular Age-related Macular Degeneration (nAMD). All the participants will receive one of the following regimens: Aflibercept (CinnaGen Co, Iran) or Eylea® (Regeneron, USA), 2 mg (vial 0.05 ml) by intravitreal injection every 4 weeks for the first 3 injections, followed by 2 mg every 8 weeks until week 48 of study. The primary objective of this study is to verify the non-inferiority of Aflibercept (CinnaGen Co, Iran) versus Eylea® (Regeneron, USA) in achieving maintaining vision (losing<15 letter on ETDRS chart) at week 52 in comparison to week 0 in participants with Neovascular AMD.
