This study in RLS patients is designed to assess the affect food has on the absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of ropinirole (by dosing some patients in the fasted state and other patients following a high-fat breakfast), and to assess the difference in absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of ropinirole if patients are given two 3mg ropinirole tablets versus one 6mg tablet.

Antipsychotic Discontinuation in Alzheimer's Disease

In patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) who respond to antipsychotic treatment of psychosis and/or agitation/aggression, the relapse risk after discontinuation is not established. AD patients with psychosis and/or agitation/aggression receive 16 weeks of open risperidone treatment (Phase A). Responders are then randomized, double-blind, to one of three arms in Phase B: (1) continuation risperidone for 32 weeks, (2) risperidone for 16 weeks followed by placebo for 16 weeks, (3) placebo for 32 weeks. The primary outcome is time to relapse of psychosis/agitation.

Treatment of Behavioral Symptoms in Alzheimer's Disease

The optimal strategy for the treatment of behavioral complications in patients with probable Alzheimer's disease (AD) remains unclear. The objective of this study is to evaluate the risk of relapse following discontinuation of haloperidol in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) with psychosis or agitation who respond to it. In Phase A of this study, AD outpatients with behavioral complications receive 20 weeks of open haloperidol treatment with an oral dose of 1-5 mg daily, titrated individually to achieve the optimal trade-off between efficacy and side effects. Responders to Phase A participate in Phase B, a 24-week continuation trial in which patients are randomized to continuation haloperidol or placebo. The primary outcome is the time to relapse of psychosis or behavioral disturbance.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, pharmacokinetics (PK), and pharmacodynamics (PD) of INP105, which is an investigational drug-device combination product comprised of the drug component OLZ administered by a Precision Olfactory Delivery (POD®) nasal spray device (I231 POD® Device). Restless leg syndrome (RLS) is a very common neurological condition characterized by an uncontrollable desire to move the legs. Due to the traumatic effect of RLS on morbidity, the patient is negatively affected in many different directions. The duration and quality of sleep of the patients decrease, and their cognitive functions change. The prevalence or risk of anxiety and depression increases in this population. At the same time, the quality of life of patients is significantly reduced. Among the different pharmacological agents used in RLS, dopamine agonists are the most widely used. However, the reporting of serious and common side effects related to this treatment has led to non-pharmacological approaches in the treatment of RLS and the effectiveness of many different approaches has been investigated. The exercise approach, which is determined to be effective in the treatment of the disease, is a subject that has been little studied. The type, duration and frequency of optimal exercise could not be standardized. In addition, the effect of exercise on RLS patients has been investigated in limited subjects. For this reason, the aim of our study is to examine the effect of different exercise programs on symptoms, sleep, cognitive functions, quality of life, psychological status and fatigue in patients with RLS.

The aim of this research is to find and compare the effect of aerobic exercises and strength training exercise on RLS severity in diabetic patient. Randomized controlled trials done at Physical therapy department of Pakistan Railway general hospital, Rawalpindi. The sample size was 38.The subjects were divided into two groups, 19 subjects in the aerobic physical therapy group and in 19 strength group. Study duration was of 6 months. Sampling technique applied was Simple randomization via computer-generated random numbers. Only 40-60 years individual with restless leg syndrome in 5 years old diabetic history included. Tools used in the study are International Restless Leg Syndrome Study Group Rating Scale: (an International tool for finding the severity of RLS), The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS). Data was be analyzed through SPSS 21.
