A Study to Assess Efficacy of an Experimental Oral Rinse in Providing Long Term Relief From Dentinal...
Dentin SensitivityTo investigate the efficacy of an experimental oral rinse, containing 1.5% potassium oxalate (KOX) and 0 parts per million (ppm) fluoride in relieving dentine hypersensitivity (DH) after 8 weeks use compared with a placebo oral rinse and a commercialized fluoride oral rinse.
A Study to Measure the Efficacy of a Toothpaste on Dentinal Hypersensitivity
Dentin SensitivityDouble blind parallel study to measure the efficacy of a toothpaste containing calcium-silicate/phosphate on dentinal hypersensitivity compared to a control toothpaste containing fluoride
Clinical Benefit of a Mouthrinse for the Treatment of Dentine Hypersensitivity
Dentin SensitivityThis study is to evaluate the benefit and tolerability of a Mouthrinse (IQP-OLP-101) in the treatment of dentine hypersensitivity.
Clinical Trial to Compare the Efficacy of a Fluoride Gel and a Dental Bonding Agent in Treatment...
Dentin SensitivityThis study compares the efficacy of two dental interventions in the treatment of cervical dentine sensitivity. The participants will be selected from adult dental patients registered at a general dental practice in West Sussex, UK. The participants will be split into 2 groups. One group will receive the intervention of topical fluoride varnish application while the other group will receive a topical application of self-etching dentine bonding agent.
To Investigate the Efficacy of an Occluding Dentifrice in Dentinal Hypersensitivity (DH)
Dentin SensitivityThis single centre study will be used to investigate the efficacy of an experimental stannous fluoride containing dentifrice in relieving dentinal hypersensitivity (DH) after short term use compared with a standard fluoride dentifrice.
Combined Bleaching Technique: Efficacy and Tooth Sensitivity
Tooth BleachingTooth SensitivityThe aim of this clinical study is to evaluate the efficacy and dental sensitivity associated with Combined Bleaching Technique (in-office + at-home) varying in-office bleaching application under two different time protocols, and dentifrice containing arginine 8% and carbonate calcium use. One hundred eight participants who meet the study inclusion criteria will be selected. The desensitizing agent used will be a dentifrice containing 8% arginine and calcium carbonate. In each evaluation will be determined: tooth sensitivity and color. The data collected will be submitted to the factorial statistical analysis for evaluation of color and chi-square test for tooth sensitivity (α = 5%).
Development of an Anxiety Sensitivity-Based Intervention for Substance Use and Anxiety Comorbidity...
Other (or Unknown) Substance Use DisordersThe aim of the current study is to develop and pilot test an anxiety sensitivity-based intervention for co-occurring substance use disorders (SUDs) and anxiety. Research questions include determining whether a broadly-applicable AS-based intervention can significantly decrease both substance misuse and anxiety. Secondary aims include examining the impact of this intervention on general functioning and depressive/anxious symptoms. In phase I, an initial pilot was conducted to examine the feasibility, safety, and patient satisfaction with the protocol, and to estimate potential efficacy of the protocol. In phase II, participants will be randomized to the intervention or a control condition.
Effect of Different Pre-seasonal BM32 Dosings on the Induction of a Protective Immune Response
HypersensitivityBM32 is a product for immunotherapy of grass pollen allergies. It consists of 4 different recombinant proteins (BM321, BM322, BM325 and BM326) adsorbed on alhydrogel. This prospective, double-blind. placebo controlled, mono-centric trial investigates the levels of allergen specific IgG antibodies following 3, 4 or 5 subcutaneous injections before the grass pollen season.
The Effect of Desensitizing Agents in In-home or In-office Dental Bleaching
Dentin HypersensitivityThe aim of this project is to evaluate in vitro and in vivo the effect of dental bleaching agents, carbamide peroxide 16% (T1) and hydrogen peroxide 35% (T2) together with desensitizers/remineralizer agents, Sensodyne® dentifrice (D1); experimental dentifrice with 7,5% of Biosilicate micro-particles (D2); Odontis RX® dentifrice (D3); Sorriso® dentifrice (D4); Biosilicate micro-particles paste, 1:1 (D5), Desensebilize Nano P (D6), bioglass type 45S5 paste, 1:1 (D7); GC= distilled water, in the experimental groups: T1/D1; T1/D2; T1/D3; T1/D4; T1/D5; T1/D6; T1/D7; T1/GC e T2/D1; T2/D2; T2/D3; T2/D4; T2/D5; T2/D6; T2/D7; T2/GC. In the in vitro study, microhardness and roughness measurements, and images using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) will be made on samples of bovine dental enamel and dentin (4x4x3mm; n=10 per group) before and after the treatment with the bleaching gels (T1= 14 days/ 04 hours/day; T2=single session) and the desensitizers/remineralizer agents. In the clinical study, the volunteers (n=10 per group) will be evaluated regarding dentin hypersensitivity (DH), using visual analogue scale, before the beginning of the treatments (T1 and T2) and during the next 14 days (1º, 3º, 7º, 10 º e 14º days) in which the desensitizers/remineralizer agents (there´s no control group in the clinical experiments) will be applying. Data will be analysed intra and inter-group, statistically.
Airway Inflammation in Children With Allergic Rhinitis and Intervention
Allergic RhinitisInflammation2 moreThe purpose of this study is to determine whether treating upper airway with intranasal corticosteroids in children with allergic rhinitis and no asthma may bring favors in reducing lower airway inflammation and improving small airway function.
