Evaluation of the Change in PSMA Expression in Prostate Cancer in Response to Hormonal Therapy
Castration Resistant Prostate CancerCastration Sensitive Prostate CancerThis clinical trial investigates the change in prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) expression in response to hormonal therapy in both, Castration Sensitive Prostate Cancer (CSPC) and Castration Resistant Prostate Cancer (CRPC), and whether this change in PSMA expression changes tumor staging after therapy initiation. Understanding these effects can help define the best timing to perform the PSMA positron emission tomography (PET) relative to the start of therapy.
Predictors of Persistent Peanut Allergy at Age 5 Years
Allergy to PeanutThe purpose of this study is to determine if avoidance of peanut by children with positive allergy testing to peanut in the first 5 years of life increases the likelihood of developing a persistent peanut allergy by age 5 years. To answer this question, the investigators need to determine which children with positive allergy testing to peanut have reactions after eating peanut (allergic to peanut) and which are able to tolerate eating peanut (not allergic). The investigators plan to conduct double-blind placebo-controlled peanut challenges (gold standard for peanut allergy diagnosis) for CHILD study (http://www.canadianchildstudy.ca) participants who had positive skin prick testing to peanut at ages 1, 3 or 5 years (in other words, children who are sensitized to peanut, but may or may not be allergic to peanut) and who are avoiding peanut without ever having had a reaction or whose history suggests that they may have outgrown a known peanut allergy. These challenges will not change a child's ability to tolerate peanut, but will determine if children who are avoiding peanut are allergic to peanut (and need to continue avoiding peanut) or clinically tolerant to peanut (and may continue to eat peanut after passing the challenge).

Interstitial Lung DiseaseIdiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis4 moreData and specimens will be collected longitudinally from patients seen in the UVA Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) clinic in order to describe the phenotypic expression of various interstitial lung diseases. Samples will also be collected from a control group for comparison purposes. All data will be entered into a repository for future research purposes or screening for new studies that become available. This data will help identify trends and hopefully lead to a better understanding of the disease progression, treatment options, and outcomes.
The Effects of Trauma-sensitive Yoga and Tai Chi on Mental Health
Mental Health Wellness 1A three-arm randomized control trial design was used to test the effectiveness of (1) Chen Style Tai Chi (TC) and talk therapy; (2) Trauma-Sensitive Yoga and talk therapy in comparison to (3) talk therapy only (control group) on four self-reported mental health outcomes: overall mental health, depression, anxiety, and trauma symptoms. Secondary outcomes include self-reported measures of resilience, stress, social support, and alcohol consumption. The two research questions driving this research study are as follows: Does TSY and talk therapy significantly lower a) PTSD symptoms and b) comorbid symptoms of anxiety, depression, and other mental health determinants compared to talk therapy alone? Does TC and talk therapy significantly lower a) PTSD symptoms and b) comorbid symptoms of anxiety, depression, and other mental health determinants compared to talk therapy alone?

The Prolonged Effect of Consumption of a Partially Hydrolyzed Infant Formula During the First 6...
AllergyThe present study is a 5-year follow-up of the Allergy Reduction Trial (A.R.T.) birth cohort study of 551 infants at high-risk for allergy. The A.R.T. 5-year follow-up study, aims to investigate the prolonged effect of each feeding regimen [formula-fed (exclusively or partially) with the partially hydrolyzed formula (pHF) or the standard formula (SF), or exclusively breastfed] within the first 6 months of life on the development of any allergic manifestations up to the age of 5 years. Allergic manifestations within this time period will include the presence of any of the following: atopic dermatitis, food allergies, respiratory allergies, urticaria, drug allergy and insect venom allergy. In addition, differences on growth (weight, height, BMI) will be examined.

A Follow-up Study With Children Who Participated in the TEMPO Study in Their First Year of Life...
AllergyInfectionsThis is a follow-up study of a randomised clinical trial, called TEMPO (a double-blind randomized clinical trial investigating infant formula and human breast milk consumption), in which infants participated in their first year of life. The investigators like to know if these children develop allergies or infections in childhood and whether their feeding pattern in infancy plays a role.
Neural Correlates of Sensory Phenomena in Tourette Syndrome
Tourette SyndromeSensory Disorders2 moreThe most pervasive sensory manifestation of TS is sensory over-responsivity (SOR). SOR is defined as excessive behavioral response to commonplace environmental stimuli. SOR is an integral but poorly understood facet of the TS phenotype, one intertwined with core elements of the disorder and worse QOL. This proposal seeks to clarify the mechanistic bases of SOR in TS. Adults with with TS will be recruited 1) to complete a standardized clinical symptom assessment battery and 2) to undergo electroencephalogram (EEG), autonomic, and audio-visual monitoring during tactile and auditory stimuli paradigms, as well as at rest.
