Using Boned-Apatite Cement at the Time of Extraction for Ridge Preservation at These Sites
Alveolar Bone LossTo assess efficiency of ridge preservation (in vertical and horizontal dimensions) after tooth extraction using Calcium Sulfate with hydroxyapatite(®Bond-apatite) compared to the use of bovine bone substitute (BioOss®) and to extration only as negative control.
Esthetic Outcomes of Single Immediate Implant Placement
Gingival RecessionBone Loss1 moreA randomized controlled trial of 12-month duration to compare gingival margin location, buccal horizontal ridge dimensions, and interproximal crestal bone levels following two surgical approaches for immediate placement of implants in the esthetic zone: one involving flap elevation and another using a flapless protocol.
A Clinical Investigation to Evaluate the Healing of Tooth Extraction Sites Filled With BioRestore™...
Alveolar Bone LossThe aim of this study was to evaluate by histology and MSCT scans during a 7-month period, the efficacy of a bioactive glass (Inion BioRestore™) placed in human extraction sockets in the maintenance of alveolar ridge.
Evaluation of a Novel Horizontal Ridge Augmentation Technique in Dentistry
Bone AugmentationBone Loss1 moreThis case series aimed to assess the efficacy of a novel horizontal ridge augmentation modality using histomorphometry and Raman spectroscopy. Combinations of "sticky bone" and tenting screws without autologous bone were used as augmentative materials.
Treatment of Intrabony Periodontal Defects With Enamel Matrix Derivatives and Autogenous Bone Graft...
Periodontal Bone LossChronic PeriodontitisThe present study aimed to evaluate the effects of enamel matrix derivatives either alone or combined with autogenous bone graft applied to intrabony defects in chronic periodontitis patients on clinical/radiographic parameters and gingival crevicular fluid transforming growth factor-β1 level and, to compare with open flap debridement. Our hypothesis is to test whether the use of autogenous bone graft and enamel matrix derivative combination in the treatment of intrabony periodontal defects enhance the clinical, radiographic and biochemical parameters in comparison to the use of open flap debridement alone.
Comparison of Amnion Chorion Membrane vs. Dense Polytetrafluoroethylene Membrane in Ridge Preservation...
Alveolar Bone LossPathological Conditions1 moreThe purpose of this study is to examine if a biologically active commercially available amnion chorion membrane (ACM) is as effective as the commercially available inert dense polytetrafluoroethylene membrane (D-PTFE) in preserving jaw bone dimensions and whether it provides the added benefit of reducing post-operative discomfort after dental surgery
Implant Abutment Dis-/Reconnection and Peri-Implant Marginal Bone Loss.
Alveolar Bone LossThe purpose of this study is to investigate whether the immediate definitive abutment connection to dental implant is effective in preventing marginal bone loss when compared to the conventional treatment with late abutment/implant connection, which include three disconnections and reconnections.
Bioactive Glass (Sol-gel) for Alveolar Bone Regeneration After Surgical Extraction
Bone LossVertical Alveolar Bone Loss1 moreThe purpose of the present research is to evaluate the effect of bioactive glass in bone regeneration immediately following extraction of mandibular and maxillary premolars. The hypothesis of the study assumes that this treatment would promote the healing of the extraction socket while preserving both the height and width of the bone. Furthermore, it would allow more effective tooth movement during orthodontic treatment.
Effect of Enamel Matrix Proteins on Clinical Attachment Level and Alveolar Bone in Periodontal Maintenance...
Periodontal Bone LossThe purpose of the study is to determine the effect of enamel matrix protein derivative on an inflamed, periodontal-involved tooth. The hypothesis to be studied is that enamel matrix derivative protein with increase the clinical attachment level is localized sites of advanced periodontal disease.
Soft Tissue Width and Abutment Height Influence Peri-implant Bone Resorption
Alveolar Bone LossThe purpose of this clinical and radiographic study will be to determine what influence on marginal bone loss has the thickness of soft tissues and the height of the prosthetic abutment and eventually determine which of the two factors is the most important. This research was designed as a multicentre cohort study. Two clinical centers will treat patients through the placement of a single dental implant. The implants will be prosthetically loaded about 4 months after placement and periapical radiographs will be acquired at each time-point.
