3 Part Study to Assess Inhaled Nitric Oxide on Functional Pulmonary Imaging in Subj. Pulmonary Hypertension...

Pulmonary HypertensionChronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease1 more

The objective of this exploratory study is to examine the utility of high resolution computed tomography (HRCT) to measure changes in functional pulmonary imaging parameters as a function of short term a) iNO administration and b) nitric oxide (NO) cylinder concentration using the investigational medical device INOpulse® DS-C in subjects with WHO Group 3 PH associated with COPD on LTOT (Part 1) and in Subjects with WHO Group 3 PH associated with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) on LTOT (Part 2 and Part 3)

Cyclophosphamide Systemic Sclerosis Associated Interstitial Lung Disease

Systemic SclerosisScleroderma2 more

By including in this study patients with significant worsening of their lung volumes and / or their DLCO (carbon monoxide diffusing capacity) in the previous year, on the basis of an open retrospective study we recently conducted, we hope to demonstrate that a strategy combining prednisone and intravenous cyclophosphamide therapy is accompanied by an increase in the frequency stabilization / improvement of lung volumes and / or DLCO of patients at 12 months of 15% in the placebo and prednisone cyclophosphamide 50% in cyclophosphamide and prednisone. We also hope to demonstrate significant decrease in the number of patients excluded for failure in the CYC arm as compared to the placebo arm.

Azithromycin in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis

Idiopathic Pulmonary FibrosisCough

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a devastating disease with no cure available. Patients suffer from respiratory symptoms including dyspnea and cough. To improve life quality the investigators will test the effects of immunomodulation of macrolides specifically on cough in IPF patients. The investigators hypothesize that immunomodulatory treatment reduces cough frequency and might improve lung function.

Trial Of IW001 in Patients With Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis

Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis

This is an open label, Phase One, multicenter study, designed to evaluate the safety, tolerability, to explore the biologic effects, and to explore the clinical effects of the following doses of IW001: 0.1mg/day, 0.5 mg/day, and 1.0 mg/day, when administered once a day orally for 24 weeks in patients with IPF.

Nandrolone Decanoate in the Treatment of Telomeropathies

Aplastic AnemiaBone Marrow Failure Syndromes2 more

Decrease in blood cell counts due to deficient bone marrow function, called bone marrow failure, as well as some lung diseases, called idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, can be caused by genetic defects in telomere biology genes, eventually causing telomere erosion. These disorders are collectively termed "telomeropathies". There is evidence that male hormones may improve blood cell counts in marrow failure, and these hormones are able to stimulate telomerase function in hematopoietic cells in vitro. We propose this study to the use of male hormone in patients with aplastic anemia and pulmonary fibrosis associated with defects in telomeres.

Safety and PK Study of BIBF 1120 in Japanese Patients With IPF: Follow up Study From 1199.31(NCT01136174)...

Pulmonary Fibrosis

Primary objective of this study is to investigate the long-term tolerability and safety profile of BIBF 1120 on top of pirfenidone treatment in patients with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis who have completed a prior clinical trial of BIBF 1120 (1199.31). Secondary objectives are to assess effects on some efficacy criteria during long term treatment with BIBF 1120 on top of pirfenidone.
