Alzheimer DiseaseThis is a study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of azeliragon in patients with mild Alzheimer's disease and impaired glucose tolerance. Patients will receive either azeliragon or placebo with a patient's participation lasting approximately 9 months (in Part 1) or 21 months (in Part 2).

Using a randomized controlled trial conducted by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in 2015, this secondary study looks at the effects of potential de-prescribing of antipsychotics by study physicians induced by the letters. The central question is whether the intervention led to better health and quality of life outcomes by encouraging more guideline-concordant care and whether changes in physicians' prescription behavior caused unintended harms.

Alzheimer's DiseaseThis study will evaluate safety and efficacy of PF-05212377 in subjects with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's Disease with existing neuropsychiatric symptoms on a stable dose of Donepezil. The 4-week run-in will minimize placebo effect. The 12-week treatment period is considered the minimum length necessary to reliably evaluate the effect PF-05212377 on cognition and and neuropsychiatric symptoms in this population. The 2-week washout will allow to monitor re-emergence of neuropsychiatric and cognitive symptoms.
