The University of Hong Kong Neurocognitive Disorder Cohort
Neurocognitive DisorderMild Cognitive Impairment3 moreThe HKU Neurocognitive Disorder (NCD) Cohort is a hospital-based, prospective, observational study of older HK Chinese adults with cognitive impairment, with a special focus on studying patients with subjective cognitive decline and mild cognitive impairment.
Prediction of Amyloid and Mild Cognitive Impairment in Early Stage Alzheimer's Disease From Remote...
Alzheimer DiseaseAlzheimer's Disease (Incl Subtypes)1 moreThe S22 study investigates, in a cross-sectional study, the ability of algorithms that analyse acoustic and linguistic patterns of spoken language to predict the presence of amyloid positivity in early stage Alzheimer's disease, specifically in Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and cognitively normal (CN) cohorts; and whether similar algorithms can predict cognitive functioning, in classifying MCI vs CN.
Natural History and Patient Journey in Dementia: a Nationwide Linked Electronic Health Records Study...
DementiaAlzheimer8 moreThe trajectory of dementia patients within the national health system and their recent temporal trends remains to be fully elucidated. To study the dementia incidence, mortality and case-fatality, we implemented a longitudinal cohort study with the linked electronic health records of 5.6 million population in the UK from 1998 to 2016 (CALIBER). A matched case-control study design was used to investigate the causes of hospitalization and death comparing individuals with and without incident dementia.
Reference Database & Longitudinal Registry of the Normal and Pathological Aging Brain
Early Onset Alzheimer DiseaseMild Cognitive Impairment2 moreEstablishment of a BNA reference database for the Adult and Elderly Population. Hypothesis-generating study designed to collect data that will aid in future scientific and engineering exploration of correlations between clinical assessments and BNA scores. The results are primarily intended for scientific inquiry and engineering development purposes, and may be used in future regulatory submissions.
Discovery of Novel Biomarkers That Will Lead to the Early Detection of Alzheimer's Disease
Mild Cognitive ImpairmentAlzheimer DiseaseThis study will perform a targeted metabolic analysis in blood and urine samples from subjects attending the Baylor AT&T Memory Center. The aim is to identify novel biomarkers that can distinguish normal aging subjects with no cognitive impairment from those with mild, moderate or severe cognitive impairment associated with Alzheimer's disease. Subjects will also be screened for B-vitamin deficiencies that may correlate with other metabolic biomarkers and Alzheimer's disease.
Is There a Relationship Between Previous Exposure to General Anesthesia and the Development of Alzheimer´s...
Alzheimer´s DiseaseGeneral AnesthesiaThe purpose of this study is to compare exposure to general anesthesia between cases with a diagnosis of Alzheimer´s disease and controls without diagnosis, through studies of medical records. The investigators wish to explore if there is a relationship between exposure to general anesthesia and the development of Alzheimer´s disease.
Determinants of Quality of Life Related to Health in Alzheimer Disease
Alzheimer DiseaseStudy the factors that explain Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQL) in patients with Alzheimer disease including: The influence of the environment (physical and human) on Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQL), The influence of non-drug and drug treatments on Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQL), The influence of formal and informal help mobilized, The influence of interactions "patient - caregiver" on Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQL), The influence of the ratio necessary cost on available resources on Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQL)
The Serotonergic Transmitter System in Dementia and Affective Disorders
Mood DisordersAlzheimer DiseaseThe aim of this project is to examine the serotonergic transmitter system using functional imaging of the brain (positron emission tomography [PET]) to gain knowledge about early pathophysiological changes in Alzheimer's dementia and mood disorders.
MRS and DTI of White Matter in Alzheimer's Disease
Alzheimer's DiseaseVascular DementiaThe white matter change of the Alzheimer's disease could be studied by diffusion tensor image and MR spectroscopy to see the microstructral and biochemical change.
