Cross-over Study of Three Modular Devices for Aid in Patient Standing and Transfer

Mobility Limitation

The main objective of this study is to evaluate via a physiological analysis of the movements involved in standing, the level of forward flexion of the spine (in cm on the horizontal axis) obtained with the apparatus "Tina" and to compare levels obtained in the same patients with stander/transfer devices "Turner" and "Vertic'Easy".

Effect of Using Walking Aid on Mobility

Coronary Artery Bypass Graft SurgeryPain3 more

The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the effect of using walking aid during out-of-bed mobilization of patients who underwent open coronary artery bypass graft surgery on levels of pain and mobility. The main hypotheses are: The pain level of patients using walking aid is lower than that of those who do not. The mobility level of patients using walking aid is higher than that of those who do not. Participants will be asked to walk with using a walking aid during the first three mobilizations in the intensive care unit on the first postoperative day.

Validity Reliability of 3 Meter Backward Walk Test in Stroke Patients

Stroke SyndromeBalance; Distorted2 more

The 3 m walk-back test is used to assess neuromuscular control, proprioception, protective reflexes, fall risk, and balance. In a study of healthy elderly adults, a 3-m walk-back test showed better diagnostic accuracy compared to the most commonly used measurement methods for falls in the past year. Reliability is extremely important, especially for research and clinical applications. In order to assess the risk of falling, measurement methods need to be reliable and change accurately over time. 3 m walk back test was found to be reliable in healthy elderly individuals. However, there are no studies investigating the validity and reliability of this test in stroke patients.

Meditation Strategies, Attention, and Mobility in Older Adults

Mobility Limitation

Approximately 30% of community-dwelling older adults experience one or more falls per year, resulting in injuries, loss of independence, and reduced quality of life. While there are known physiological risk factors for falls, including poor balance and altered gait patterns, it is now recognized that impaired cognitive functioning is also a risk factor for falls. Within the broad construct of cognition, one specific domain that has been focused on in the falls literature is attention. The literature suggests that improving attention in those at-risk for falls may reduce older adult's risk of falling.

Comparing the Reciprocal Inhibition Method and Post-isometric Inhibition Method of Muscle Energy...

Relaxation; JointLimitation2 more

This a cross-over study to compare the effect of two different muscle energy techniques (MET) including post-isometric inhibition and reciprocal inhibition on the spinal reflex excitability. The study contains two experimental groups, while one group will receive post-isometric inhibition MET in the first stage and reciprocal inhibition MET in the second stage, the other group will receive reciprocal inhibition MET in the first stage and post-isometric inhibition MET in the second stage.

The Effects of Proximal And Distal Tibiofibular Joint Manipulations on Foot Posture, Ankle Range...

HemiplegiaGait2 more

Limited ankle dorsiflexion adversely affects the weight bearing capacity, increases the knee extensor moment and causes insufficient maneuvers to change the center of gravity of the body in patients with hemiplegia. While biomechanical studies emphasized the importance of proximal tibiofibular joint and distal tibiofibular joint manipulations for ankle dorsiflexion, no studies examining the effect of corrective manipulation techniques applied to these two joints on foot posture, range of motion and balance were observed.
