Subjective Comparison of Pre-Lens Tear Film Stability With Daily Disposable Contact Lenses
MyopiaHyperopia1 moreThe purpose of this study was to compare three CE-marked daily disposable contact lenses for tear film stability as measured by pre-lens non-invasive keratograph break up time (PL NIK-BUT). Secondarily, contact lens surface wettability was assessed.
Lens Wearing Experience and Biocompatibility of a Marketed Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution in...
Refractive ErrorThe purpose of this study was to describe mean differences in corneal staining (type and area) for OPTI-FREE PureMoist Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution (MPDS) at Day 30 compared to Baseline (Day 0).
Anesthetic Impregnated Bandage Soft Contact Lens (BSCL) in Pain Management After Photorefractive...
MyopiaHypermetropia2 moreCompared to laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK), Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK) is associated with more discomfort and requires more downtime. However, it is oftentimes considered the preferred method of refractive surgery for patients with dry eye syndrome, high refractive errors, thin corneas, or those with more active lifestyles who may be more prone to dislodging their LASIK flaps. We hypothesize that the use of bandage contact lenses soaked in proparacaine will decrease pain levels compared to solely the use of bandage contact lenses after PRK.
Efficacy and Safety of Astaxanthin in Volunteer With Refraction Errors
Refractive ErrorsThis study will investigate efficacy and safety of astaxanthin in 180 volunteers with refraction errors. Visual test, skin test, liver function test, renal function test, and adverse event will be evaluated before and after taking astaxanthin for 1 and 2 months.
Study to Evaluate the Safety and Efficacy of HI-BRITE Large Diameter Rigid Gas Permeable Contact...
Refractive ErrorsStudy to evaluate the safety and efficacy of HI-BRITE large diameter rigid gas permeable contact lens (hexafocon b) test when worn on a daily wear basis in the correction of myopia/hyperopia/astigmatism/presbyopia/ and irregular cornea.
Does Undercorrection of Myopia Retard Myopia Progression Among Kindergarten Children?
Refractive Error - MyopiaThe purpose of this study is to find out if undercorrection of myopia slow down the progression of myopia in kindergarten children.
Association Between ORA and Residual Refractive Astigmatism After SMILE
Refractive ErrorsAstigmatismThe aim of our study is to analysis and compare the relationship between ORA and postoperative astigmatism in low astigmatism (less than 1D) and moderate to high (1D to 3D) astigmatism patients after SMILE (Small Incision Lenticule Extraction) refractive surgery.
Measurement Repeatability in Contemporary Aberrometry
Refractive ErrorsWavefront scans are a common form of diagnostic test applied in preparing patients for laser eye surgery. An optical map of the eye is created by wavefront scanning, and information from these maps is used to program lasers used to correct focusing errors in the eye. Here the investigators are comparing how repeatable measurements are with a new wavefront scanner and one that is already in widespread use.
The MORE Study: Manifest vs. Online Refraction Evaluation
Refraction ErrorMyopia1 moreThe assessment of the refractive state of the eye is a fundamental and important part of ophthalmic and optometric clinical practice. The development of an unsupervised online subjective refraction method makes a refraction more accessible and can be quite cost-saving. In this study, the investigators want to validate an online refraction method which was recently created in the Netherlands. The study comprises two different set of participants: Part one contains fifty healthy volunteers, 18-40 years of age, with a refractive error and no other ophthalmic pathology. Part two contains fifty patients with an ophthalmic pathology. The online refraction outcomes will be compared to a manifest refraction and automated refraction in a cross-sectional study design.
Refractive Error and Biometry in Retinopathy of Prematurity
Retinopathy of PrematurityThe investigators compared long-term refractive and biometric outcomes in children with retinopathy of prematurity who received two different anti-vascular endothelial growth factor agents.
