Propofol Injection for Daily Headache
Chronic HeadacheAnalgesic Rebound Headache3 moreHypothesis A single subanesthetic dose of propofol will result in improved pain and quality of life for the next 30 days in persons with chronic daily headache (CDH) Specific objectives To measure the effect of a single infusion of propofol at 40 mcg / kg / minute over 60 mins on headache-related quality of life (measured by the Headache Disability Index) and on headache severity (measured by the Headache Index) in subjects with chronic daily headache over 30 days45-47
Prednisolone in the Treatment of Withdrawal Headache in Probable Medication Overuse Headache
HeadacheThe purpose of this study is to determine whether prednisolone is more effective than placebo in the first six days after initiation of medication withdrawal therapy for a medication overuse headache. Another purpose is to study whether patients followed by a neurologist 1 year after withdrawal do better than patients followed by a general practitioner.
The Effect of Botulinum Toxin A on Headache Attributed to TMD
Secondary Headache DisorderThis study will evaluate the effect of of botulinum toxin on the treatment of Headache Attributed to TMD.
Eptinezumab in Adults With Migraine and Medication Overuse Headache
MigraineMedication Overuse HeadacheThis study evaluates the efficacy of eptinezumab to prevent migraine and headache in patients with the combined diagnosis of migraine and medication overuse headache
tDCS in Chronic Migraine With Medication Overuse (Edisom)
Migraine DisordersMedication Overuse HeadacheTranscranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) was suggested to provide beneficial effects in chronic migraine (CM), a condition often associated with medication overuse (MO) for which no long-term therapy is available.
A Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of Erenumab in Adults With Medication Overuse Headache...
Migraine HeadacheStudy 20170703 is a phase 4, randomized, double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of erenumab against placebo in participants with chronic migraine (CM) who have a history of at least 1 preventive treatment failure and are diagnosed with medication overuse headache (MOH).
Peripheral Nerve Block and Topiramate in the Treatment of Medication Overuse Headaches
Medication Overuse HeadacheChronic Migraine1 morePurpose: In this study, the investigators compared the effectiveness of peripheral nerve block (greater occipital nerve block with supratrochlear nerve block) versus topiramate as detoxification therapies in chronic migraine patients with medication overuse headache. Methods: At least ninety chronic migraine patients with medication overuse headache are aimed to include in this study. Patients will be divided into the two groups. The first group will receive topiramate (n=45, estimated) and the second group will receive nerve block (n=45, estimated) as detoxification therapy. Patients' records regarding the visual analog scale (VAS) scores and headache frequencies are aimed to be collected before and after the therapy. Comparisons regarding VAS scores, headache frequencies, 50% responder rates and 75% responder rates will be performed in between topiramate and nerve block groups.
Medication-overuse Headache: The Effect of a Patient Educational Programme as an add-on to Standard...
Secondary Headache DisordersMedication-overuse HeadacheThe aim of this study is to evaluate the influence of personality profiles in patients with MOH and to evaluate the effect of a custom-made educational programme as an add-on to standard treatment as compared to standard treatment alone in MOH patients using a randomized controlled trial (RCT) design.
Frovatriptan as a Transitional Therapy in Medication Overuse Headache
Medication Overuse HeadacheAnalgesic Overuse HeadacheThis study will analyze the effectiveness of a medication called Frovatriptan, in the context of medication overuse headache (MOH). MOH is a headache that develops when pain-killers are taken frequently. The treatment is to stop the overuse of these pain-killers, but that can sometimes worsen the headache first before it gets better. We are testing Frovatriptan against placebo to see if it can help patients with this transition and avoid the worsening of the headache that can occur. We will also see if Frovatriptan can help in other ways, such as maintain patients free of medication overuse.
Thoracic Spine Thrust Manipulation for Cervicogenic Headaches: A Randomized Clinical Trial
Headache DisordersSecondaryHeadaches have been listed as 1 of the 10 most disabling conditions worldwide. (Stovner et al., 2007) and cervicogenic headaches (CeHs) comprise 15% of the individuals with these complaints. (Nillsson, 1995); (Fernandez de-las-penas et al., 2005) The current best approach to the conservative care of this condition has yet to be determined. The primary aim of this study is to determine whether individuals with CeHs will respond to a program of thoracic spine thrust manipulation in isolation. This may further the current body of evidence by offering an alternative, potentially safer approach to the conservative care of individuals with this condition. Additionally, results of this study may serve to drive a larger scale Randomized Clinical Trial (RCT) by offering information regarding feasibility of recruitment of individuals with chronic CeHs as well as timing and dosing of the intervention.
