Restless Legs Syndrome With Iron Deficiency or Anaemia in the 3rd Trimester of Pregnancy

Restless Leg SyndromeIron Deficiency Anemia

In pregnancy Restless Legs Syndrome(RLS) is more common than in the general population. During pregnancy iron tablets are the only available safe medication but their efficacy is rather poor. It is the aim of this study to examine the efficacy, practicability and safety of the drug Ferinject® containing the active agent Ferric carboxymaltose for the therapy of Restless Legs Syndrome(RLS) during pregnancy in the case of iron deficiency or anaemia. 20 women with RLS and iron deficiency and/ or anaemia in the third trimester of pregnancy will receive intravenous Ferric carboxymaltose in one or two single doses. Repeated blood tests, pre-and post-therapy actigraphy as well as repeated answering of questionnaires concerning Restless Legs Syndrome(RLS)-symptoms and sleep quality will show the effect of iv-Iron supplementation on Restless Legs Syndrome(RLS)-symptoms during pregnancy. Iron Deficiency AnaemiaInflammatory Bowel Disease1 more

The purpose of this study is to determine whether ST10-021, an oral ferric iron preparation, is safe and effective in the treatment of iron deficiency anaemia (IDA) in subjects with non-active Crohn's Disease (CD).

Study of Safe Blood Transfusion Volumes to Correct Acute Severe Anaemia

Severe Anaemia

Greater volume of whole blood(30mls/kg compared to 20mls/kg) following standard calculations, given to children with severe anaemia will be beneficial in haematological correction and can be given safely since respiratory distress and haemodynamic changes result from acidosis and compensation in these children rather than from biventricular failure.

A Study of Subcutaneous C.E.R.A. for the Maintenance of Hemoglobin Levels in Participants With Chronic...

Anemia

This single arm study will assess the efficacy and safety of subcutaneous C.E.R.A. when administered for the maintenance of hemoglobin levels in participants with chronic renal anemia, not on dialysis. Participants currently receiving maintenance treatment with subcutaneous darbepoetin alfa or epoetin beta will receive monthly injections of C.E.R.A., with the starting dose (120, 200 or 300 micrograms [mcg] subcutaneously [SC]) derived from the dose of darbepoetin alfa or epoetin beta they were receiving in the week preceding study start.

A Study of Intravenous Mircera in Participants With Chronic Renal Anemia Who Are on Dialysis

Anemia

This single-arm study will assess the efficacy and safety of monthly administration of intravenous methoxy polyethylene glycol-epoetin beta (CERA/Mircera) for the maintenance of hemoglobin (Hb) levels in participants on dialysis with chronic renal anemia in routine clinical practice in Hungary. Participants currently receiving maintenance treatment with intravenous epoetin or darbepoetin will receive monthly injections of Mircera, with the starting dose derived from the erythropoiesis-stimulating agent (ESA) dose they had been receiving.

Evaluation Of A New Vitamin E-Bonded Membrane On Anemia And Oxidative Stress In End-Stage Renal...

Anemia

The main purpose of this longitudinal study is to point out the effect of VitabranE on the ESA resistance and on the anemia observed in HD patients undergoing EPO maintenance therapy. As a secondary purpose we will consider the effect of VitabranE on inflammation and oxidative stress parameters as a function of the changes observed in the anemia parameters.
