Internet-delivered Interventions for Stress, Anxiety and Depression in the Workplace
DepressionAnxiety1 moreThe research will utilise an open feasibility parallel groups trial to examine the impact of novel internet-delivered cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) interventions for stress, anxiety, and depression compared to treatment as usual (face to face counselling and psychotherapy) in an employment context. Participants will consist of employees accessing services provided by employee assistance programmes (EAP) provided at the European headquarters of a large technology organisation.

School Based Prevention for Childhood Anxiety
Anxiety DisordersThis study was designed to conceptualize a school-based prevention program or childhood anxiety.

Cannabidiol for Anxiety
AnxietyThis pilot trial seeks to investigate the effect of 25 mg full-spectrum CBD soft gel capsules (up to a total dosage of 100mg per day) on individuals with diagnosed anxiety. All participants will take CBD soft gel capsules for 12 weeks, and will be assessed at 6 weeks and 12 weeks post-enrollment using measures of anxiety, sleep and perception of change.

PREPARE - PREoPerative Anxiety REduction
Anxiety DisorderSurgeryThe study aims to verify if a short individual psychological intervention might increase perceived self-efficacy in managing preoperative anxiety in patients who will undergo pancreatic surgery. It is a randomized clinical trial where half of participants will attend a psychological intervention based on "the four elements protocol" by Elan Shapiro the day before surgery, while the other half will follow usual care.

The Impact of Preprocedural Animation About Echocardiography Display and Kaleidoscope Display on...
AnxietyChild2 moreObjective: The study was conducted for the purpose of determining the effect of making children aged 5 to 12 years watch a cartoon about echocardiography (ECO) procedure before the procedure and kaleidoscope during the procedure on their anxiety. Material and Method: It is a randomized controlled study. The study was completed with a total of 164 children who came to have an ECO and met the sample selection criteria. There were four groups in the study which were as follows; the group that was made watch a cartoon about the procedure before the procedure, the group that was made watch a kaleidoscope during the procedure, the group that was made watch a cartoon about the procedure before the procedure and a kaleidoscope during the procedure and the control group in which routine applications of clinic were carried out. Results: At the end of the study, it was determined that anxiety scores of the cartoon group, cartoon+kaleidoscope group and the kaleidoscope group were lower during the procedure than before the procedure (p<0,001). In the control group, it was determined that there was no significant difference between the anxiety scores before and during the procedure (p>0,05).

Happy Mother-Healthy Baby: An Anxiety-focused Early Prenatal Intervention
Postpartum DepressionSmall for Gestational Age at Delivery3 moreIn the proposed study the investigators will develop an early prenatal preventive intervention targeting anxiety and conduct a randomized controlled trial in Pakistan to test its efficacy in reducing generalized anxiety disorder and major depression in mothers in late pregnancy and the postnatal period. Investigators will evaluate the impact of the intervention on fetal and infant growth restriction as well as examine how the impact of the intervention is mediated (to elucidate mechanisms) and/or modified (to help optimize future adaptations of the program) by various social factors. A cost-effectiveness evaluation will shed light on the costs and benefits of intervention components in relation to outcomes, enabling policy-makers and public health planners to scale up this intervention according to resource budgeting requirements.

Anxiety and Depression in Epilepsy: A Pilot Treatment Study
AnxietyDepression1 moreAs a potential solution to address high rates of depression and anxiety seen in epilepsy patients and poor mental health care access, this trial aims to carry out treatment for depression and anxiety directly in the epilepsy clinic. Patients that meet eligibility criteria, including significant symptoms of depression and/or anxiety, will be enrolled in the intervention. The intervention will consist of an initial prescription for an FDA-approved medication to treat depression/anxiety and telephone-based chronic care management plan for repeated symptom measurement and side effect surveillance. The purpose of this pre-piloting limited study is to streamline recruitment, intervention and outcome assessment process in preparation for a randomized, controlled pilot of the intervention.

Coronary Angiography THerapeutic Virtual Reality
Virtual RealityAtherosclerosis5 moreThe CATH-VR study will investigate the effect of virtual reality (VR) on patient pain, anxiety, and radial artery vasospasm during coronary angiography. Our hypothesis is that the use of VR will decrease patient anxiety and pain via validated scoring systems, as well as show a low rate of vasospasm of the radial artery. In addition, we hypothesize that the amount of opioid and benzodiazepine medications utilized for procedural sedation will be lower in the intervention arm. VR has gained recent attraction as an alternative or adjunctive treatment option for pain, but its effect on reducing procedural sedation has not been studied. We propose a single center, randomized control pilot study to further investigate. The patient population will include adults older than 18 years who present for outpatient diagnostic coronary angiography.

Evaluating the Effect of the Use of Virtual Reality Headset in School Vaccinations
Anxiety and FearThis study was conducted with a randomized controlled experimental design to determine the effect of virtual reality headset on children's fear and anxiety during vaccinations. Research Hypotheses: Hypothesis 0a (H0a): There is no difference in fear scores between the experimental group in which virtual reality glasses were used during vaccination administration and the control group. Hypothesis 1a (H1a): There is a difference in fear scores between the experimental group in which virtual reality glasses were used during vaccination administration and the control group. Hypothesis 0b (H0b): There is no difference in anxiety scores between the experimental group in which virtual reality glasses were used during vaccination administration and the control group. Hypothesis 1b (H1b): There is a difference in anxiety scores experienced between the experimental group in which virtual reality glasses were used during vaccination administration and the control group.

Efficacy of Art Intervention on Decreasing Pain and Anxiety During Intravenous Cannulation
CatheterizationPain3 morePeripheral Intravenous Cannulation (PIVC), one of the most common therapeutic procedures in medical care, can be difficult even for experienced medical practitioners. The pain of intravenous cannulation is considered the major limitation in pediatric clinical care. Reducing the pain of intravenous cannulation has been the motive for many investigations. Intervention methods used to reduce the distress related to painful procedures are widely recommended. The management of pain and anxiety is more essential because it may modify children's memory for procedural pain and the subsequent acceptance of later health care painful interventions. Distraction is the most studied psychological technique to relieve venipuncture-related pain and distress, with strong evidence supporting its efficacy in children. Art therapy commonly used to reduce pain and anxiety of children's disease but was not used in reducing distress outcomes of painful procedures. We used a collection of the image need for coloring and tracing called Trace Image and Coloring for Kids-Book (TICK-B). The purpose of this study is to exam the effectiveness of TICK-B in decreasing pain and anxiety during cannulation.
