The purpose of this study is to determine whether a brief (12 week) psychological treatment program, based in primary care, can help youths struggling with anxiety and/or depression. This brief cognitive behavioral therapy program will be compared to enhanced referral to specialty mental health care.

Mental disorders, mainly various anxiety and depressive disorders, are an increasing reason for sick leave and disability pension. Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) has been shown to have an effect on anxiety and depression, but the investigators know little about this in relation to employment. Close follow-up in ordinary employment increase employment participation for serious mental illness, but this is not yet investigated to the same degree for lighter mental disorders. Center for Work-Coping (No: "Senter for Jobbmestring" - SJM) combines Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and individual placement and support (IPS) and facilitation of work for people with anxiety and depression who are in danger of falling out of work. The purpose of this project is to evaluate the effectiveness of the model in SJM. The effect will be evaluated through a randomized controlled trial (RCT) in which participants will be randomized to SJM or regular follow-up by The Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration (NAV) or by their regular general practitioners (GP) and self-help resources. The main outcome measures are work participation with changes in mental health as a secondary outcome.

This study will assess whether adding cognitive behavioral therapy to the antidepressant escitalopram is effective in reducing anxiety in older adults with generalized anxiety disorder.

This study is designed to evaluate anxious patients who are only partially responsive to typical SSRI or SNRI anti-anxiety medication therapy. Patients who are less than 50% anxiety-alleviated on their SSRI medication will be asked to join the study and be placed on Acamprosate as well. This type of add-on therapy is common in outpatient psychiatric care. This is a rater-blinded, patient open-label, non-placebo prospective study, where all subjects will receive Acamprosate for 8 weeks. This study would be the first to date in this treatment-resistant patient population, as the investigators will utilize the a comprehensive set of rating scales in order to best categorize patient responses in regards to anxiety, co-occurring depression, sleep disorders, alcohol use, and social functioning with this drug. This study may be pivotal to the initiation of future double-blind, placebo-controlled studies for this agent

Preclinical and clinical findings indicate that LEV has some anxiolytic potential. There is reason to believe that compounds with anxiolytic activity may have broad clinical utility across the anxiety spectrum. This trial was intended to explore LEV's utility in adults with social anxiety disorder.

The purpose of this study is to determine whether BCI-540 80 mg given once daily (q.d.) or three times daily (t.i.d.) is effective in the treatment of major depression with concomitant anxiety.

The primary objective is to test the hypothesis that Quetiapine XR (Extended Release) monotherapy and adjunctive therapy is effective in the acute treatment of bipolar depression and comorbid generalized anxiety disorder in patients with bipolar disorder with or without a substance use disorder. The secondary aim is to generate an estimate of effect size to power a definitive large-scale, multi-site collaborative R01 and to configure the use of the primary and secondary outcome measures in the definitive large-scale study.

The purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness of a cognitive-behavioral intervention for children aged 7 to 12 years with anxiety disorders who are referred to ordinary community clinics. The treatment will be conducted as individual therapy or group therapy.

RATIONALE: Providing cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) may reduce anxiety and improve quality of life of patients with advanced cancer. PURPOSE: To examine the development and pilot testing of a brief cognitive-behavioral therapy intervention to treat anxiety and improve quality of life in patients with advanced cancer. Hypothesis: Patients with anxiety associated with advanced cancer who receive CBT will report significantly fewer anxiety symptoms compared to those in the comparison condition.

The purpose of this study is to assess whether improving sleep in children and adolescents with anxiety disorder will further enhance affective, clinical, and social functioning.
