Patient Tailored Contrast Volume for Preoperative CT Angiography of the Aorta

Aortic Aneurysm

An in-house calculator was developed to calculate the appropriate contrast dose, rather than standardly administering a 120ml dose. This study aims for a more uniform contrast enhancement in patients by means of adjusting (lowering) contrast dose to patient parameters.

Screening of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms Among Male Patients With TIA Symptoms

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm

The purpose of this study is to investigate the prevalence of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) among male patients with transient ischemic attack (TIA) symptoms. Ethiology of AAA is known to be common with atherosclerotic arterial diseases (coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease and carotid artery disease), so the hypothesis is that AAA should be more common among these TIA patients, thus making screening of these patients (for AAA) more cost-efficient. Study will be carried out as a prospective screening study. Data will be collected in North Karelia Central Hospital within one year. All male patients with TIA symptoms will be recruited for the study and screened for AAA with ultrasound.

Dual Energy CT Urography With Reduced Iodinated Contrast

Aortic Aneurysm

The goal of this study is to validate that Dual Energy CT (DECT) urography when performed with a 50% reduction in iodinated contrast dose results in a CT exam with equal or better image quality and equal or better diagnostic capability compared to traditional Single Energy CT (SECT) performed with a standard contrast dose.

Screening Programme for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm by Hand-Held-Ultrasonography in Primary Health...

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm

To determine the prevalence of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) in the Spanish men over 60 years through a screening program in Primary Health Care using a hand-held ultrasound and to analyze the relationship between cardiovascular risk factors and cardiovascular disease in patients with AAA.

Computed Tomography Scan Versus Color Duplex Ultrasound for Surveillance of Endovascular Repair...

Endovascular Repair of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm

Cumulative radiation dose, cost, contrast induced nephrotoxicity and increased demand for computed tomography aortography (CTA) suggest that duplex ultrasonoraphy (DU) may be an alternative to CTA-based surveillance. The investigators compared CTA with DU during endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) follow-up. Patients undergoing EVAR have radiological follow-up data entered in a prospectively multicenter database. The gold standard test for endoleak detection was CTA. DU interpretation was performed independently of CTA and vice versa.

Implementation of Non-size Markers Derived From 4D Flow MRI of Patients With Aortic Disease.

Aortic Valve DiseaseAortic Aneurysm

The aim of the investigator is to implement 4D FLOW MRI technique into a clinical setting and evaluate the blood flow pattern and wall sheer stress in patients with aortic and/or aortic valve diseases.

AAA Registry: Clinical Outcomes of Highly Angulated anatomY Treated With the Aorfix™ Stent Graft...

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms

The ARCHYTAS Registry is a long-term, global, multicenter, non-randomized, prospective, registry designed to collect "on-label" data in real world clinical settings on patients undergoing endovascular repair with the latest generation Aorfix™ AAA Flexible Stent Graft System. Registry data will augment existing data from ongoing and prospective Aorfix™ clinical trials for the purposes of publication, general product development and quality measures.
