Cardiovascular Variability and Heart Rate Response Associated With Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Sleep ApneaObstructiveObstructive sleep apnea is often associated with microarousals and a stimulation of the sympathetic nervous system. The knowledge of this autonomic activation may help understanding the increase of cardiac risk observed in elderly. The aim of the study is to evaluate the relationship between obstructive sleep apnea severity, age, gender and heart rate response associated with obstructive sleep apnea. Drug-free patients diagnosed with obstructive sleep apneas were included. Clinical data and 24-h polysomnography recordings were analyzed.
DOC Utility: Screening of Depression, Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Cognitive Impairment
StrokeTransient Ischemic Attack3 moreThe primary objective of this study is to determine whether baseline DOC screening can add to clinical and demographic data to predict the occurrence of a composite negative outcome (any of: recurrent stroke, myocardial infarction, death, or admission to a long-term care (LTC) / complex continuing care (CCC) facility) within one year of screening, in stroke prevention clinic patients.
Monitored Saturation Post-ICU
Sleep ApneaObstructive1 moreThe overall aim with this project is to describe the correlation between measured and charted saturation after intensive care and also describe the saturation-pattern in these patients. The investigators will also correlate post-ICU desaturations measured as oxygen denaturation index and complications to pre-ICU obstructive sleep apnea and the STOP BANG screening questionnaire.
Ambulatory Versus Home Blood Pressure Monitoring in Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Obstructive Sleep ApnoeaHypertensionSubjects referred to a sleep clinic had polysomnography (PSG), clinic BP measurements, 24-hour ABP monitoring and HBP monitoring using a device (Microlife WatchBP HomeN) that allows daytime (3 days, 2 duplicate readings/day) and automated nighttime BP measurement (3 nights, 3 readings/night).
Obstructive Apnea in Patients Submitted to Partial Laryngectomy
OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNEAThe investigators intend to study the prevalence of obstructive apnea in patients submitted to partial laryngectomy by larynx cancer. Volunteers will be evaluated using polissonografy. We will try to correlate the residual glotic area with the number of apneas per hour.
